My mom is actually still serious!

Hello, I'm Kaitlyn. I've been to Disney twice and maybe a third time this May. The trip will be just me and my mom since no one else is our house wants to go.

I believe my mom has wanted to go back to Disney since we left it in '03. But my school's marching band traveled every year and I like to travel, but once a year is enough for me. Well since I'm not in high school anymore and I'm don't get to go on a band trip, I suggested going back to Disney to my mom in September and she suggested around the third week of December after my finals are done. I immediately started getting prices and looking for plane tickets I was really excited. I asked her like 100 times "Are you serious about this?" And she'd just nod. Then I finally broke down and told her I couldn't go in December. It was too soon for me. I needed to make my lists (of rides I want to ride, what I'm going to pack...), read this website over and over again (it's packed full of info!!), read books, watch Disney movies, read what has changed since we have last been there...etc. So we decided on May when my finals are done.

Much to my dismay she wants to stay at a value resort. She's one of those people "I'm not spending money on a hotel I'm just going to eat and sleep in." I wanted to go back to the Wilderness Lodge, but I'll settle for the All Star Music one. I told her we have to at least visit the Lodge though and eat at the Whispering Canyon Cafe again. But there's so much planning to be done. Half of me wants to just wing it when we get down there, but the other half of me likes to plan it out because it procrastinates me doing my homework.

Anyways that's my happy dance for today.

Hey, that sounds terrific--you and your Mom. I did that two years ago, and we had such a wonderful time. Wait until the break between semesters before you start to plan so you don't mess up on your schoolwork and finals.

You may like to consider one of the tours, or do something new. The Segway tour is lots of fun, or any of the other tours, just to make your stay different this time. And Whispering Canyon for lunch--that's a great choice!

I, too, love the planning phase of the vacation. Have a great time planning, and a great trip with your Mom!

My reaction was very simple when I read your thread......You only live once & May may never arrive so if your Mom wants to go now, pack your bag and have the time of your life!

Reading boards and books are not close to a reason for not going......maybe it is even selfish.

Thanks! I would love to go on a tour. I need to go read more about them. But my lap top charger is broken so until I get a new one I won't be able to do much research since we only have one computer for the whole house. This just means more studying...

There were other reasons too. There was probably slim chance that I could get it off for work. It was hard to figure out when to leave and come back because of my finals for school. Plus with going in May I can save up some money and help with the costs.
