Maynard was a kick! I'd been searching for him for for about two years and could never find him. Then Saturday morning we walked by the Oprah House and there he was! I guess sometimes it's easier to find something when you don't look so hard.;)

I don't know who Maynard or Oscar are...and what's Jingles? LOL I feel like such a noob.....LOL

I'm glad you had fun, we had fun last weekend too, we expected higher crowds but we were very pleasantly surprised.

Sounds like you had a great time. How fun to be able to go for the weekend!

Maynard is a very popular CM who currently works weekends mostly at the Opera House. Here's a photo with him a couple weeks ago:

Oscar is the chef at Carnation Cafe. He's been the head chef there since 1960, I believe, and is the only remaining CM that worked the park when Walt was alive.

Here's a photo of him with my dd on her birthday.

Jingles is a horse on King Arthur's Carousel. He was Walt's favorite and was just recently dedicated to Julie Andrews.

cute trip report one of the few I could read quick!:thumbsup2

Ahhh, Thank You!! That's why Jingles sounded so familiar, we were there for Julie Andrews dedication, got some pics but there was some reflection that made them horrible so we deleted most of them. :(

Thank you DangerMouse for posting the response and photos! I haven't quite mastered the photo posting thing yet!

Hey Pixiewings71...I got some nice photos of Jingles. If you need any for a photo album just PM me and I can email them to you.

Sounds like a great trip! I also  Dole Whip! I had 4 on our last trip. I missed the Churros, but that just gives me a reason to go back!

A couple of years ago, we were eating at the Carnation Cafe and they brought Oscar over to our table because I was wearing a Texas Tshirt. It turns out that he is from the very same area in South Texas that my husband is from.:) He told us that he has worked at Disneyland since right after the first year it was open, but at first didn't work in Food Service until about 1960. He said he was the Disneyland employee with the longest longevity. It was a pleasure to meet him.
