I too have your "must get going" mentality. Di said on our first day we can sleep in a relax a bit, I replied "thats fine honey, you just find me at Magic Kingdom whenever you wake your lazy head!"

Anyway back to the cliffhanger!

You will get the cupcake info I promise! At Disneyland I do not like to waste time. Get up and wait at the gates when they open. None of this sleeping in. Of course Jake and I are morning people and so we threatened some mornings to leave the beasts behind but that never happened. We just drug the grumpies with us.

I'm waiting on the video to load then the cliffhanger will be solved.

I love your TR so far. Your family is adorable and I am so glad that your ds finally got his first autograph from Mickey. I also live in the phoenix area, moved there almost 5 years ago and love it. My DH and I are going to be staying at POP in 10 days . I can not wait!!!! I am looking forward to reading the rest of your TR

10 days isnt long at all! Sweet! I hope you have a good time there. We loved it! The weather was nice for most of the vacation. Strange to see the rain though. My kids were like "What is that mommy?"

Does Jeff live?

Ok everyone out of line, find a bench, lets search. He swore up and down he gave it back to me. Nope. I may be blonde but I knew for sure he did not give those back to me. I forget a lot but this I knew for sure. We looked over my baggallini dumping everything out of it. Man that thing has a lot of pockets. Nothing. His wallet and pockets came up empty. Nada. Oh boy.



Jeff says we all go in and he can run back to the hotel. Great another hour delay. Why even bother at this point. UGH. I’m not going on anything without him. This was to be symbolic, huge, together as a family. He gets upset because I’ve taken the kids to DL a few times without him. I didn’t want to do that here. Not even enter without him. I was taking a stand. Run to the bus Jeff go get that key. But wait, what if the key fell out of his pocket and wasn’t even in the room. Also, he had to take one of our room keys back with him just to get in. UGH. Think, Think, Think.

Guest Services. Lovely Guest Services. Jeff goes and talks to them while I set on the bench with the kids. He knows inside I’m fuming mad. I’m pretending to be calm. Not doing a good job of it. Remember no freaking out Shawna. None.

There was a line at Guest Services and only 2 windows open so it took a good 20 minutes before he got to the window. I played Rock Paper Scissors with the kids and searched for snails in the dirt trying to distract myself from possibly murdering my husband. Nope no freaking out! 3 times I started to get up and go up there to handle the situation but I sat back down. Jeff can do this. I’ll enjoy the kids. He came back and showed me his new KTTW card! BLESS GUEST SERVICES!!! I LOVE THEM. I want to marry them. So does Jeff. Ok now we can all FINALLY breathe.

We breeze through the gates at 12:45 pm!!!!!! WOW! At this point I’m laughing about everything. Hysterically laughing which makes Jeff think I’m a tad crazy. He’s worried I’m still mad. Nope we got in that’s all that matters.

Guess what? Jeff heads off to the bathroom the second we enter the park. Are you kidding me? UGH. He calls me the Pee Nazi at DL and I’m not going to go into that mode here. So my Pee man goes. Ok No big deal then Morgan complains she is hungry. Hungry? We cant be hungry. So does Jake. We have rides to do, no time for eating only have 4 hours now. Why are we hungry. Anyone notice how I never mentioned eating yet?

OH MY GOSH. We never ate. We NEVER ate that morning. Are you kidding me? Do we even know how to go on vacation? To a Disney park? Much less live day to day? We hadn’t eaten? Not one of us. Jeff comes out of the bathroom and asks what is first. Umm Food. He says Food? I’m like “Yeah, we forgot to eat?” Then it was like a great realization hit him and he got hungry too. So here we all were starving at the Oasis. Morgan broke down and started crying because she was so famished. Clearly we were all tired too and possibly had a little jet lag.

This morning was so bad it was comical.

Shoot we needed food. A quick look at the map and a question of the kids shows Morgan wants a hot dog and Jake wants popcorn. Ok, jake is still sick. A hot do probably wouldn’t be good for him. Popcorn might actually be better for the “D“ word!.

So we snapped a couple quick pictures as we headed our way to Restaurantosaurus. We were headed towards Dinosaur and EE so we thought that was the best place.

Isnt the landscaping here beautiful? Jeff kept telling us if he only had about 100 acres he would do this there minus the animals and rides of course. Its just so gorgeous.

We did a lot of photopass pictures here. I can’t wait for the CD to come in so I can start adding them.

We passed a popcorn cart on the bridge to Discovery Island. I should have grabbed Jake’s popcorn here but we kept going towards the restaurant. Popcorn was tough to find later.

Derailment from TR progress. Please excuse……

As I was just looking through the receipts for the day I came across one from Everything Pop for Crazy Glue. I forgot that Jeff also broke his sunglasses that morning and decided that crazy glue would hold them together rather than buying a new pair! Haha I also went in and put the total for Chef Mickeys meal in the earlier post. It was $95.81 for that meal. We had all but 2 days on the free dining plan. We had to pay for the dining plan the last 2 days but its fun to see what everything would have cost us if we paid OOP. I am steeling this idea from Tammy’s TR Onetreehilladdict. Thanks Tammy!

Back to regular posting….

So we head to the restaurant and Jeff orders the Hot Dog on the adult menu because the kids menu does not have a hot dog option. Strange. Morgan gets the cheeseburger kids choice for Jeff and Jake just wants a chocolate milk. I wasn’t going to eat anything here. I was on a Disney high. A quest not for the cupcake now but to salvage this day. I had a plan. While they ate I was going to go get Jakes popcorn, bring it back to him and then run to grab Fastpasses for EE. Brilliant. Jake decides he wants to head out with me.

I figured we would walk out the door in Dinoland and there would be a popcorn cart. None in sight. No problem. Just over this hill, around the corner probably. Nothing. Where was the popcorn? We head towards EE to knock out 2 birds with one stone. WOW that expression sounds really bad when you say it in reference to being inside AK doesn’t it? I can assure you no birds were harmed in our adventures. At least none that we know of.

I snapped this picture of Jake at EE. We also got some photopass pictures of EE. That ride got me all excited to DO something. Jake too. He has my spirit. He said and I’m using quotes so you know its true “Forget the popcorn I want to go ride on this magnificent ride with my wonderful mom. Who needs food when you have roller coasters like these and your mom to share them with. Lets leave the other family members and hit all the rides like crazy!” I’m sticking to that.

We grabbed the FP’s for EE and headed back to the clan. Jake and I never found popcorn but he said his tummy was full from the milk. With the “D” word still lingering I didn’t want to press it. He wasn’t eating much still.

Back at the restaurant, Morgan was hating her hot dog. Its 2:00pm and she ate her French Fries but said the hot dog was disgusting. Jeff didn’t like his hamburger either. Is this restaurant McDonalds still? Or was it the little thing/trailer next to it. I don’t know. Nothing looked good to me. The were out on the patio because Morgan got cold inside and the kids had found some pressed pennies. We had a half an hour before the FP’s at EE so we head off for Dinosaur

Then there was this really nice lady giving a demonstration on dino bones. We thought it was cool so we headed over there.

The lady also let us touch dino poop! Jake would not touch it but Morgan had her hands all over it! Interesting. She said girls tend to be drawn to it. I guess that’s why we will change diapers.

The ride was a walk on. No one was there. Hooray! For those of you from the west coast this ride is Indiana Jones with Dinosaurs. It was a lot darker than I remembered it and was very scary for Morgan. I knew when that last dino was coming out and warned her but it didn’t matter she stayed glued to my side the whole time. I was proud of her for trying but she needed something fun. Poor girl was not having a good start.

Here is our picture. Yeah, I didn’t buy any of these. Just took pictures of them. Whoops…..Don’t Judge ME! We are in the back row.

Then I put the camera in the purse and start walking and its filming the whole time. Oh that’s typical of me! I’ll have to listen to the whole thing and see if I missed any details that were funny along the way.

We took these cute dino pictures then tried to get out of the place! Morgan was still not too excited but she did it.

Headed through a shop and got a little turned around.

The rode TriceraTop Spin. We all kept looking at the under refurbishment Primeval Whirl and wished we could do that. Looks like Mulholland Madness from DL but it spins. How fun. Unfortunately it was closed the whole time.

Stopped to snap these pictures as we made our way under the large dino and towards EE.

Tonight I will get the rest typed up and get a table of contents up on my 1st page to make this easier to find posts. I'm still sifting through my videos. We took about 25 hours worth of video. Not sure how much was me walking around in my purse. Right now I'm off to get the kids.

Good to see no Jeffs were harmed in the making of this trip....................so far. Hilarious contrast from Jake doing his Dino roar to Morgan looking like her feet just weren't getting her the heck away from that place fast enough!

I have to admire your restraint in coping with all the delays, truly remarkable

I am gonna miss not being on Disboard and reading your report even though I will actually be in the 'happiest place on earth' come this Friday

Oh thats quality I once called Diane's mobile phone accidentally on my mobile and hers went to message, she got a good 7 minutes of me alone in the car rambling away to myself as I drove home from the shops. Highlight was me doing my best Apu from The Simpson's impersonation by repeatedly saying 'Thank you, come again'

No joke, I did the exact samething!! I videotaped the inside of the camera bag!! I think the camera must have switched on when I put it in the bag!

Morgan had the exxact same reaction to Dinosaur that I think my 7 year old DD would have! DS 6 would totally love it and can't wait to ride!!

we stayed in the 50's section when we stayed at Pop too! My boys loved the bowling pins too! Poor Morgan and her sunglasses BUMMER I am glad she was able to get a new pair quickly! Let me just say that I too am a blonde and taping inside my pocketbook is TOTALLY something I would do. If I had my own video camera I'm sure I would have done it already I'm sorry that the beginning of your day didn't go quite as planned but I'm sure looking back on it now you just laugh at it. I loved your updates and videos. We also stayed in the 50's section at Pop, I liked that section alot. Too funny about the video camera taping in your purse that is something I would do. You hit the character jackpot at AK. Darn it I didn't know Flik was even there for meet N greets anymore. Thomas asked about seeing Flik for months before the trip. I didn't see him but we did take him to TTBAB. Missed Block Party which Flik is also in. My DH forgot his ticket on our March trip when we were getting into HS same thing happened he set it on the table when he got back to the room with tea. Thanks goodness for guset services. Sorry Morgan didn't like Dinosaur. Kaylee and I hated it! I think she rode EE and I'm hoping your day keeps getting better.

With the shortened hours I could get a lot more done. I think we'll skip Dinosaur this time. It's too jerky. It's not a must do for the kids either. They could care less even though DS is a huge dinosaur fan. We did win a dream on there in '07 though.

Sidney finally got my videos working again. Stupid laptop. So I got to see the Dinosaur roar. hehe So cute. And I love Morgans glasses. I want some that cover my face like that. They're nice! I'm going to have to find my girl a pair of those!

Ya know at the end of your stay you can ask for a report of your dining. They give you a print out of everything you used credits on. I forget how I heard about this (probably on here somewhere) but it's much easier than keeping track during the trip. I could never do that. We'd lose all the slips before we could write them in. It's interesting though to add them up in the end. I don't know how they made money when that tip was included!? Had we eaten out for every meal and gotten the expensive stuff every time the totals would have been a good 25% more easy!

Morgan bolted the dinosoar ride. She was getting the heck out of there as fast as she possibly could. She was not going to discuss it either or else I'm afraid more tears would fall. Poor dear was not having a good morning.

My restraint surprised my husband. Jeff was wondering if someone had slipped me some medication at the hippy dippy pool the night before because this was not me to act this way.

You both will be missed but I am looking forward to hearing all of your adventures when you return.

I just noticed the kid in the front row is doing the same thing I believe. Hiding. It is pretty frightening if you dont know its coming.

Thats great! I bet she keeps it for giggles! I would. I'm tempted to burn the Hour and twenty minute video into a DVD because its funny to hear our conversations taking place when we are off camera.

Locked up in POC right now. That classic! If Depp was there it might be worth it though. Maybe even for the mannequin of him on some days.

Those bowling pins fascinated the kids. I liked climbing them too each night I have to say. I conquered the bowling pin after a long day in the park. Pride! It wasnt that far to the main building which was nice too.

Jeff thought I was going to throw him to the hippos but I didnt. Sometimes its good to make a husband sweat it out.

We totally forgot to eat several times on this trip.

The day started out rocky didnt it. Luckily we kept our sense of humor. Well, Morgan lost hers on Dinosaur but we found it later in the day. I started thinking this was going to be that day like the cruise line commercial where they search for their daughters smile.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who finds taping the inside of the bag funny and not out of the ordinary! I think it finally shut off during the jerking around on the dinosaur ride. I can hear the ride start but not finish. The next video is of Jake's roar.

Its actually pretty funny now. Luckily we all laugh pretty easily but i really had to keep telling myself to calm down.

when you get the printout of everything does it tell you the prices it would have been? that would be awesome. We just put them in a ziplock back each night. I might not have them all but I know I have most of them. I liked reading yours and the prices of each meal.

We never miss park opening at DL. I love early morning hours in the parks. I just couldnt do it there. I guess the time change messed us up.
