Are they working any longer?
Our last few trips on HS, RnR, IASW and EE they were not. As recent as our January trip and as far back as our Oct trip
I haven't even noticed them on ST, where are they there?
They are basically show elements that read your magic band so that, for example, in the "good-bye room" at the end of iasw it can say "good-bye, [insert your name]" or the Hitchhiking Ghosts will hold up a sign with the name of where you are from. Theoretically an element could wish someone a happy birthday or basically display any other data in the system. It adds a personal touch. I believe the official name of this is "Story Maker." It does not always seem to be working though.

LOL... That is the point of this thread, to list the locations with this capability
Just only works hit and miss and even when it is working only some guests names show up, like at RnR or EE. Your name shows while you are in the area where the monitors are. For those rides it's a very short time you are in that area so it's very possible for your name to not show up even when it's working.
Not mentioned yet is haunted mansion and small world.
They aren't on all the time and not sure what the trigger is but it might be crowd related and I suspect if it's detecting a lot of bands in the area or the computer is too slow at telling it who someone is it automatically skips doing anything.

After the FP+/standby merge point, on the way up the ramp, there is a screen to the left that displays (about?) 4 sections. Your name can appear on one of the sections. I "think" it could be about different types of droids, but I'm a little fuzzy on that detail.
I missed it the first few times we went. We're usually focused on the thermal imaging.
