Was just reading about My Magic+ on another site, and it specifically states:

"If you are staying in a hotel that is not located within the Walt Disney World Resort you will be issued a special RF card instead of the MagicBand"

In all the news on these new "keys" I never see DVC called out. I am assuming we will get these same benefits as well, but was curious if anyone knew for sure?

Yes, we should get them, as DVC resorts are still considered WDW resorts.

That is what I figured. Thanks!

I think they will let you migrate those days on your next stay. So say you have 2 days left on a no exp ticket and want to have 5 days total. They will credit you the two days on the new ticket.

Starbird,
We still have 2 -10 day no exp. tickets that we bought a few years ago. Plus one of those have Water Parks and more,,,, So we're talking about 2 or 3 more years of usage left. We generally go into the parks 2 or 3 x's per trip with another couple of days to just relax at the resorts .

My point being they can't just throw all these days into a MYW ticket. I am sure there are many people like us in the same boat.

And what about those of us who buy APs, but they aren't activated yet? Anyone heard?

I'm sure that will not be an issue. They would have mentioned it when we were asking questions when we picked up our PAP vouchers last month. FYI, it sounded like the sale of PAP vouchers might be an occasionally recurring sale thing. I LOVE that idea!:thumbsup2

So are the fastpasses gonna be tied into our tickets (AP, PAP) or the DVC room ressie?

I hope they offer the PAP deal again!

My understanding is to a MagicBand which has admission tied to it.

I picked up my PAP yesterday. It is the same kind of 'paper' ticket it has always been.

My room key at VWL, however, is the kind with a chip. It works great on the door. . . not so much on the entry gate!

Tickets, Fastpass+ will be linked to tickets. It won't make any difference if you have a Disney reservation, DVC, day guest or staying off property. It is all about the tickets.

So if you book DVC eleven months out, but wait to buy and/or activate APs at the start of your trip you're basically shut out of reserving any fastpasses ahead of time? This doesn't seem fair at all.

This sounds concrete. :) your sources are reliable. It also is supported by the nick Franklin V.p. interview. The ticket is the key. We just don't know what type of tickets work. PAP and AP no brainer. Tickets purchased at a ticket center like AAA?

I do think everything points to that being true.

What' s to prevent us from making those reservations using the exchange vouchers as we do now?
