We werent going to Niagara falls. We were already there, but we were early for my uncles house so my mom wanted to go to a garden centre, but she turned down the wrong road.
So we had to find our way back to the road.

Didn't sound weird, the host on a local radio station speaks like that. Just everyone where I am speaks with a different accent, i'd place the one you used a southen one.
