My Little Princess is Turning 8 trip report. Completed

How scary about Kaylee thank god you caught her and she didn't hit the ground we are either going to BB or TL and I can't decide I am leaning towards TL.

I will be keeping Thomas in my prayers! I know hwo hard it is to watch your child have tests my daughter kept crying and I just wanted to pick her up and leave but I knew I couldn't.

Awww - poor Kaylee! I'm glad it wasn't too bad though - but still scary.

The waterpark looks great - even with the blurry pictures. I've only ever been to River Country (RIP :sad1: ) but am thinking about going over the summer. What would you recommend - Blizzard Beach or Typhoon Lagoon. Samantha is not a great swimmer but would enjoy the raft type rides.

Can't wait to hear about what you did on your final night. :)

I've never been to River Country either and we stayed at FW when I was little. I like both waterparks for different reasons. TL is so pretty and tropical and they have that water coaster and the shark swim, which I would never do BTW :scared1: . They also have some fun slides for kids that are not great swimmers and tube slides. Blizzard beach IMO has better slides and more of them and of course a calmer wave pool. They have a larger kiddie area. Also they have and area for older kids like 5-11 that looks fun. If you go here then definately ride Teamboat Springs which is like a family raft ride and really fun. Tobbagon racers is fun too and you don't have to be a stron swimmer for thses. I like TL for the tropical atmosphere but I think BB is more fun.

I forgot to ask - any news about Thomas?
Just posted his results and will find out more on Thursday.

Nichole, first off, sending all my hugs for you and Tom and little Thomas. I know this must be hard so keep the faith and I'm sure all will turn out ok. Kids are resilient little things!

I will be thinking of your family and please let us know how it goes tomorrow.

:grouphug:

Secondly, I loved the update on your water park day! Sorry the pictures are blurry, but you can tell everyone was having fun! That's so scary about Kaylee and almost fainting. I guess sometimes kids just can't handle seeing an injury like that on themselves (Oh, who am I kidding, I can't handle seeing an injury on MYSELF! :rotfl2: )

Looking forward to your last night at the World!

Sara
Thanks Sara  , I will certainly let you know what the Specialist says Thursday. Thanks for thinking of us.

The waterpark was so fun, except calling passing out. Good thing I was holding onot her at the time. She wasn't even crying or anything :confused3 just traumatized I guess. I'm the same way and would :lmao: have been pretty lightheaded over that injury. Might have been worse looking at her like that. You can just picture me waving and yelling for Tom in the wave Pool. Sure I got a few more looks this day  .

I hope everything is ok with Thomas!! So sorry about Kaylee's foot! That's not a fun way to end the water park!
Thanks :goodvibes . Hope you have a great trip :yay: , one more day!

I'm so glad I caught her and she didn't hit the cement. Like I posted above TL is prettier but I like the slides at BB more. Next trip we are either going to both of them or just doing BB.

Thanks for keeping Thomas in your prayers, he will need them :goodvibes . I feel the same way when you just want to grab your child and leave but unfortunately you have no choice :sad2: .

Nichole, I feel like such an awful DIS friend. I had no idea about Thomas. I hadn't checked in this week. I'm so sorry your family had to endure such a scarey time. Sounds promising now though.

What a day at the water park. Didn't anyone come over to help you with Kaylee? Was there alot of blood? I wonder what made her woozy? Wow! This sure was a roller coaster of a trip!

Can't wait to hear more. Your family will continue to be in my prayers. Better late than never huh?:rolleyes1

Keeping Thomas in my prayers!

And poor Kaylee and her foot - ouch! I guess we should never underestimate the power of the wave pool. :rotfl:

Hi Monica, Thanks so much for the hug.
The trip was definately a roller coaster :lmao:. We had really great fun magical moments and then a few not so great ones. When Kaylee got hurt there wasn't alot of blood dripping or anything. there was just a huge chunk out of her foot. Not sure if anyone noticed or not since most were in the wavepool. I think the whole thing made her woozy and pale as a ghost. She had white lips. Her foot is just now completely healed over 6 weeks later. Took a long time since it was deep.

Keeping Thomas in my prayers!

Thank you :)

Hi Nichole,

Hi and thanks so much for reading !! I'm from Wall twp in Monmouth County originally, 5 minutes from the beach. Alot of my DH's family live in Staten Island though :goodvibes . Well be visiting them too when we come up over the summer.

love the update :) and glad to hear that they think Thomas will be fine, I am sure you are still worried, hang in there..

Wow you don't long at all until your trip  . They think he will be fine but he does have to have a complicated surgery and stay overnight in the hospital. Then hopefully he will recover and have 2 vacations to look forward too this year. My DH and are losing our minds a bit that Thomas has to go through this :sad2: . Have a great trip and hop you got tons of pixiedust:

Just stopping by to let you know I'm thinking about you today!

Thanks Michelle,
It's been a rough day. The Specialist sadi he is not entirely sure that Thomas has a Thyroglossal Duct Cyst. He think it might be a Branchail cleft cyst. Surgery is a must and it doesn't sound like and easy thing like Tonsils or anything routine like that. Dr. showed us his Scan on a Laptop and the cyst is near glands, his Larnyx and some nerves that move the face. They of course told me all the risks :scared1: and I'm just feeling like this  :scared: . He also said he is not 100% sure it's benign at least unitl it's removed and sent to pathology but he does think it is. Thomas will be haivng surgery May 28 and they will keep him overnight and we will get stay with him overnight. The recovery sounds painful too because they have to remove more than just the cyst. I'm still relieved it's not something worse. there is a girl in Kaylee's garde that had a brain Tumor and she went through radiation and everything. I really feel for her and her family but the little girl is so postive it's unbelievable :goodvibes . Anyway I feel like any mom would in this situation. I can take anything but something happening to one of our children. Thanks for thinking of us today :) .

Oh Nichole, I have gotten so behind on your thread and while catching up I read your terrible news. Heres a  for you and a  for Thomas.

Nichole  I'm sorry you didn't get the news you were hoping for today. I can't even imagine how you are feeling - the waiting has got to be the hardest part. I will keep your family in my prayers - I hope this month goes by quickly for you so you can get the surgery over with.

Nichole, just read your news and I am so sorry it isn't what they originally said. What kind of doctor does this kind of surgery? Is it a pediatric surgeon, plastic, dermatology? Just curious! Hang in there and it will all be over soon. I hope and pray that the recovery is quick and Thomas does fine! I'm sure he will. I hope his mama does too! :goodvibes

Sara

Nichole, I'm so sorry that Thomas has to go through the surgery. And May
28th seems like such a long time to wait for something so worrisome. Just try to hang in there, and take one day at a time. Is there anything you have to do with Thomas in the meantime? How does he seem to feel? Will Kayleigh be out of school by then? We don't get out of school here until June 28th:scared1: .

Hopefully the surgery will be over before you know it, and the news will be good and you can enjoy the rest of your summer without all the worry hanging over you.

 to you and your DH and of course to Thomas. I'll continue to keep you and your family in my prayers. And if you want something to keep your mind from worrying, you can help me with my August trip plans!:goodvibes

Oh Nichole:

I am so sorry. I will be thinking of you and Thomas. Please continue to keep us posted on his condition. Poor little guy!

HOLY COW NICHOLE! I cannot believe all you have been through while we were away! I am so sorry to hear about poor little Thomas. I will be praying for him and all of you! I am sure everything will be OK and at least you addressed it right away. It sucks waiting though.

LOVED your updates! Kaylee really had a magical birthday! I am so glad she had all those magical moments:thumbsup2 I am glad you posted about your meltdown...cause i had one too!:rotfl: TL looks like so much fun, we have only ever been to BB and we loved it! Poor Kaylee and her foot:scared1: You really did have a roller coaster trip huh:confused3 Hopefully in Oct. you'll all be in Disney without a care in the world!:goodvibes

Thanks Sara  .
The Dr. is Pediatric Ear,Nose,Throat Specialist. I askes him how many of these surgeries he has done and he said less than 50 :scared: . But I know it's not a common surgery like tonsils taken out. Thomas seemed to like him Okay, so that's good. He doesn't really like any doctors at all. When he goes for a weel check up he screams if they weigh him and definately when they do the finger stick.

Nichole, I'm so sorry that Thomas has to go through the surgery. And May

Thanks so much Jennifer  . I can't wait to get this over with so he can get better. Thomas doesn't seem sick at all that is what is so strange. Both doctors say this usually occurs after a cold or something but he hasn't had a cold in many months. He has had a healthy winter. Anyway Kaylee gets out of school May 23 so she will be home to get him all hype up when he is recovering  . I've talked to her about though, how I need her to be helpful with Thomas and then when he is better we will have a fun reat of summer. I might send her to Bible camp the second week of June so she has something fun to do. I would love to help you with your August trip plans :) . You know how much all of us love planning these trips! Besides your staying at my favorite resort, Poly.

Oh Nichole:
I am so sorry. I will be thinking of you and Thomas. Please continue to keep us posted on his condition. Poor little guy!

Thank you  . I will keep everyone posted with any news. I have to get to work on the rest of my trip report too ;) and get back on topic. I will try to update Saturday since it will be rainy.

I just want to thank all of you again for your thoughts & prayers. It means alot to me :goodvibes to have such caring friends on DIS.

Hi Diane,
I can't believe your trip is over already! I will be coming over check out your trippie soon as the kids fall asleep. Kaylee had a wonderful Bday but we did have a rollercoaster trip, hopefully October will be more relaxed as we will need it. My meltdown was pretty funny, looking forward to hearing about yours .I'm not coming to NJ until July, probably over the July 4th :scared1: and you know how crazy that is up there with traffic. The beach will be a nightmare. But I had to reschedule everything. Thanks for the thoughts and prayers for Thomas  and our family. I can't wait for him to be all better. He is getting more spolied everyday :rolleyes1 and getting away with it.

Oh Nichole. So sorry for the news not being what you expected and hoped. Just know that you have so many people praying for Thomas (and you!). A scarey time for a Mommy. We'll help you get your mind off things. Keep us updated.
