My Little Princess is Turning 8 trip report. Completed

Great update!

Would you recommend staying at Pop? DBF and I are trying to plan a long weekend trip for this summer (because the one we're planning for January seems way too far away!) but the only way we can swing two trips in one year is to stay value for one of them. But DBF is whiny and doesn't think he'll like Pop  . Any info would be much appreciated!

Hey there. I'm not sure how I missed this, but I'm here now. Gonna catch up and be up to date! :goodvibes

CAUGHT UP! Everything sounds perfect so far! I was so excited to read about the Barnstormer! What a great Birthday so far.

BTW, we were HUGE fans of the chicken fingers and decided to try the "nuggets" and we thought they were better. The chicken was good, no fatty parts like fast food nuggets.

Hi Kimmy :goodvibes ,
Glad to see you over here. We had so much fun riding Barnstormer with Goofy :cloud9: . I think the nuggets were fine as they were gone in minutes. Didn't look nasty like MCDonalds or anything.

Lessa will be glad you posted this though.

Yes, that is definitely good news. My family, especially the brothers, are big chicken finger fans and I was afraid there would be a revolt when they found out they were gone. :rotfl:

Quite honestly they hardly look very different. I would call them chicken thumbs instead of fingers :rotfl: They were still bigger then what I call a "nugget"

I loved your first trip report from the Poly, and I am so enjoying this one! Currently, I have DS3, so I love reading about all the fun girl stuff you get to do with your daughter. This is a great birthday trip so far, I can't wait for you to post some more! :thumbsup2

Hi Nichole! Just found your trip report and spent the whole evening last night reading the first one and now this one! We just booked our stay for the end of august again, and so now I'm getting all excited by reading everyone's trip reports! Unless we have ressies for Disney, I get sad reading about everyone's plans!

Anyway, we are returning to the Poly after staying at POR the past two years so I am beyond psyched! But DH just told me that we are getting to Orlando the day before check in (we are driving from a time share in Sebastian, FL where we will be the week before our disney week) and we'll have to stay somewhere local. I was thinking of making a room only ressie at a value, so that we will have the disney magic, but on a budget. Did you like the POP? I am trying to decide b/w that and the All Star Movies. What do you think?

Also, dd is 4 so I just made our first apt at BBB (my only girl....i have three boys!) and I just can't wait!!! We are doing BBB at 2:00 on our MK day and then heading to 1900 Park Fare for dinner!

Anyway, love your trip reports, and your kiddies are adorable! Plus my DH and two older ds's are huge Jets fans! We have the big jet inflatable for our lawn too!

Welcome to my trippie. The girl stuff at Disney is lots of fun but my DS3 is and even bigger Disney fan! Thanks for reading :) .

Thank you for your kind words. Wow you have to live with 3 Jetsfans! My DH is of course working on DD8 and DS3. I'm sure our neighbors in TN don't like our inflatable :lmao: much.

Glad to hear you have a trip booked. I'm fine as long as I have a ticker and a trip to look forward too :goodvibes . You must be looking forward to staying at Poly :cloud9: again. For your first night I think either ASMo or Pop will be fine since it's for 1 night. I would pick Pop over ASM though because my kids think it's a fun place. Your DD is going to love BBB at MK, take lots of pictures. If you take her to Exposition on Main St they can a photoshoot of your DD with her makover and put the pics on your photopass card. Hope you have a great time at Poly.

DAY 2, Part 4 : DInner at Chef Mickey's, MK Evening!

When we got back to our room at Pop, there was a surprise for Kaylee left in our room from the resort. Balloons and a card signed by Cinderella. That is a really nice touch for people celebrating a birthday at Disney.

Yes I'm a germaphobe and took those nasty bedspread off the beds when we arrived.

We all got quick showers and drove our car to CR and parked there since we had and ADR. They asked for our ADR # at the gate though. AT Chef Mickeys' there was a huge line checking in for dinner. It took over 10-15 minutes just to check in. The funny part is there was a lady in front of me that said she didn't have a reservation but thought she would be able to get in. I certainly didn't think that was possible, but I kept my mouth shut ;) . When she got up to the podium they told her there would be a 25 minutes wait but they did get her inot the restaurant. I was shocked.

Anway we waited about 15 minutes and I wasn't cazy about where they sat us in that tiny front room where it's quite noisy. But hey we had a view of the monorail going by so that was fine. The food was alright typical buffet dinner but we go for the characters. Kaylee got a personalized placemat that said Happy Birthday on it. I forgot to take it when we left.
Donald came around before we even sat down. Goofy was right behind him. You can sure tell how much Thomas loves these characters :cloud9: .

DisneyMarch2008144.jpg

Kaylee and I went to get our food and missed Minnie, :rolleyes1 why does Tom think she is wearing a polka dot dress. He should have asked for her to come back in a minute.
DisneyMarch2008140.jpg

Pluto and Mickey came around when we started dessert. Which is always excellent at CM.
DisneyMarch2008146.jpg

We sat next to a family that had a sick kid that wasn't eating dinner, good thing I brought vitamins since Thomas was practically next to him on the bench seat.

Then Thomas's favorite, Mickey!!
DisneyMarch2008150.jpg

Our waitress brought Kaylee a Birthday cupcake and told her not to blow out the candle until Donald came over to celebrate with her!

DisneyMarch2008155.jpg

Notice DD is not wearing her crown from CRT?? She said it hurt her head.

It was definitely a good choice for a birthday dinner! The only other place I thought would be nicer is CRT but DD wanted CM instead. But has requested to go back to CRT in October.

After we finshed I told the CM that Kaylee missed Minnie Mouse. So they brought her over to us really quick for pics.

DisneyMarch2008159.jpg

After leaving Chef Mickey's we stopped in the CR gift shop to see if we could find that Buzz laser Thomas wanted. Apparently they don't make them anymore. So since we had Buzz FP's DH said well let him get a toy in the shop there. We took the monorail to MK since it was close to 7PM.

Cotinued in next post......

Adorable photos of the kids with the characters. Did you enjoy the food at dinner? We've always done breakfast here, and I've seen some DISers rave about dinner.

Sounds like this is shaping up to be a good trip, and I love that they left a special surprise for her in the room. Plus, without even realizing it, you've helped me by posting a pic of the bed rails! I was wondering what they looked like. Our DS is way too big for a pack and play at this point, so I requested bed rails for our upcoming Sept trip. :)

Magic Kingdom was very packed when we arrived and lots of people were sitting on Main St already for parade, 2 hours early. So I asked the kids if they wanted to ride more rides tonight or see Spectromagic which is a favorite. They picked ride some rides. There were a few characters over by Exposition hall so DD and I lined up for the Suzy & Perla.

DisneyMarch2008160.jpg

Chicken Little was also out but DS and DD didn't want to see him. We went to use our Dream FP's and ride Peter Pan again instead. We waited about 10 minutes since the posted wait for standby was 60 minutes :scared1: . Then we walked to TL to ride Buzz with FP's. Tom beat my score again. Then we bought Thomas a buzz laser that makes lots of noise from the giftshop. Everyone wanted to ride BTMRR again sp walked all the way over there but the FP's line was really long, onto the street in front of the ride for some reason. I asked the CM and they said 40 minutes with FP's!! Standy by was posted 90 minutes. It was such a busy night at MK. If Spectromagic was and option we needed to find seat in Liberty square right then. But decided next time well see Spectromagic since we have seen it every trip. We rode Small World instead since we skipped it in the morning. We waited about 20 minutes but were lucky to get a front seat for a change.

No flames but I did take a few pics in Small world. Can't remeber if your not supposed to :confused3 , I know you can't in POC or HM though. We still ride SW every trip, but I'm one of those that like it because I loved it when I was 6 on my first trip to Disney.

All the boats were backed up so it took a while to get off the ride. The kids were getting tired by now so Itold the mwe would ride Pooh and then leave. It was a walk on with the FP's and not too long of a wait anyway since the parade was started already. Then we tried to walk back through Fanatsyland but it was pretty much roped off everywhere and we had to walk through Liberty square where we got stuck for a bit. Then we were behind the parade crowds leaving the park :headache: . We high tailed it to the monorail and back to CR and out to the parking lot. I waited for Tom to get the car and we sat on the curb watching a bit of Wishes. Then we drove back to Pop with sleeping kids who had to be carried to the room. We had a fun day and night though but we were so tired and crashed right away. I did wake up to rude kids next door screaming and yelling in their room at 1am.

Next: 2 meltdowns, HS and a magical moment! Afternoon at a Waterpark.

It sounds like Kaylee had a birthday to remember! Good thing you had those Dream FPs! Sounds like MK was very busy! Great update and I look forward to hearing about the water park. It's on the list for our next trip. And I really can't wait to hear about the meltdowns!

Great update Nichole! Love Kaylee's dress:thumbsup2 That pic. of Thomas with Donald is so cute, it looks like he wants to jump up inside of him!:rotfl: Thanks for all the great shots of Chef Mickey's, we are going there on our trip but for breakfast! Being tired at Disney is like no other, except for maybe the first few weeks after child birth!:rolleyes1 I love your new ticker! Wouldn't it be funny if we bumped into you while you were up here:goodvibes

Glad to have helped. just call housekeeping when you get there and they bring the bedrails right up. Thomas still falls out of bed. Dinner at CM is good but I think breakfast is better.

I'll be going to CM for dinner for the first time. I hope we like it!
I'm sure you'll like it!

She had and awesome Bday. She was talking about it last night and her favorite momnet is coming up on our HS morning. I knew you couldn't wait :lmao: to hear about the meltdowns. Thomas is so spoiled!! He has been having a meltdown for the last 2 hours over a Mickey Mouse Airplane he saw at Toys R Us 2 days ago. He picked something different and is now crying for that airplane :scared: . He will proabably pull this all day. But he is not getting it because he needs to learn.

Sounds like another great day!! I love the balloons and card from Cinderella! We are going for our Anniversary in 2 weeks and I hope we get something too!

I really like the bed rail option!! I may have to change the pack n play option and get bed rails for DS. He hasn't been in a PNP for ages, but i was afraid he would fall on the floor off the bed!;)
