My little niece might need a new heart...Update! pg 7..looking good!

My nieice is only 2. She is in the ICU right now. They aren't sure what's wrong, but her heart is three times the size it should be, and one valve is leaking. They have her on some meds, and on Thursday she is having a heart cath. They believe that she may have some disease, the name of which I cannot recall right now, but it cannot be treated. They said she will probably need a heart transplant before she can leave the hospital.

This is so unreal...I just can't believe this is happening. Right now, I can't imagine when she might get to come home. (They said her chances of a actually getting the transplant are better if she stays in the hospital) I am hoping they find out some other cause for all of this. I am praying for a miracle right now...

I know what you are going through, my DD12 has heart disease, it is not fun at all! She has never needed a new heart, but she had to have open heart surgery and may again here soon. It is all scarey. I will pray that they find something that can be fixed without transplant.
