He has been throwing up on an hourly basis for about 19 hours. I haven't slept all night long. He is getting better and holding down more liquids so hopefully it is winding down. It seems he always gets hit in the tummy when something is going around.

On a side note, DH is leaving for work and I want to scratch his eyes out for not calling in.

Please take him to the Dr. when they open up. Something similar happened to DD when she was 3 (but it was only 12 hours). She ended up in the ER with an IV and took almost an entire IV bag before they considered her hydrated enough to leave. Even the ER doc was shocked at the amount she needed.
Good luck with everything. I'll keep you both in my prayers. Its very frightening. :grouphug: :grouphug:

sending some pixi dust and a hug to help make things feel beter  pixiedust: If your DH is like me you are probuly better off sending him to work

I've been having him sip a few teaspoons of water every 10-15 minutes to keep him hydrated (doctor instructions given to me today). We're heading back tomorrow if it keeps up and we'll get suppositories.

ETA: I meant yesterday when I said today. Since I haven't slept it all feels like one very long day.

:grouphug: I'm sorry if that came across as an insult. I certainly didn't mean it (hard to get tone from printed words even with smilies). From one mom to another I just remember how scary it was sitting there holding her. I'd hate for anyone to have to go through that. Good luck with everything and hope he's feeling better today. :grouphug:

Oh no, not at all. It is scary and they can get dehydrated so quickly when they are sick like this.

Poor little munchkin. Sorry he's sick, but glad to hear it seems to be getting better.

Oh, the poor little guy and you. The suppositories are nasty but they do work. Hopefully it won't come to that because it's so tough on the kid. Keep us posted. Hopefully you can both get some rest. Can your DD go to a neighbor for the day?

hope your little guy is feeling better soon! My ds5 was sick last weekend...fever, vomiting etc... good luck and hope you get some rest soon.

I hate it when my kids are sick. I hope your son begins to feel better soon.

Have you been slightly pinching (not to hurt him) his skin to see about dehydration? If the skin goes back to normal he is getting enough fluids but if the pinched section remains at a peak and/or resides slowly he is dehydrated.

I'm so sorry your little guy is not well. Sending lots of hugs and lots of PD his way.  :wizard: :wizard:

Aww, poor guy and poor mom. I hope you both are feeling better today and get some rest.

He may prefer Gatorade or popsicles to plain water. My Ds's would never touch the Pedialyte. Hope he feels better soon and that you can get some well deserved rest! :goodvibes

Your poor DS-- I hope he feels better.

My DS won't do gatorade, or drink anything that he's supposed to when he's sick. We have alot of luck with just regular popsicles-- if you try them, just make sure the kind you get don't have real fruit juice in them. Good luck! I hope he's better soon.

I hope he's feeling better real soon. There is definitely something like this going around in our area too, my friends and their kids have had this too.
