My Kitty Is Going to Kitty Heaven Tomorrow

I can empathize with you...I lost a dog, my fur baby this summer, very unexpectedly to spinal cancer. It is very devastating, and even though you don't believe it, some day you will be able remember your kitty and smile. But for now, grieve, and let yourself work thru the healing process. If & when the time is right to love another you will know. You're not replacing your former pet, just loving another.

I have been there so many times, and will be there again.

I agree with the others about adopting another. It will take time and the pain will have to subside for awhile but the love you have for pets is so wanted and needed by some other little creature just sitting out there waiting for you.

When my cat Rambo was dying I remember telling God that I would NEVER, EVER find another cat like him. I thought it was so unfair. He fooled me by giving me not one but FOUR cats just as precious, just as nice and love me just as much. One of them even started doing the same things Rambo used to do for me which helped me to heal even more quickly.

Of course, everyone gets through this their own way. I know you will find a way to survive this. I have faith in you.

I am so sorry. As another pet lover I know how hard it is to lose a much loved pet.

I had to make the same decision for my dog. That was 9 years ago & I can still remember my last day with him. I still think about him.
I too at first said I would NEVER allow myself to love another animal that much again, the pain just hurts too much. It took some time about 3 years later Charlie (our cat) came into our lives & then we added Rusty (our other cat) to our family. I love them with all my heart & I know when the day comes I will cry a thousand tears.
But I would not give them up for anything. They are very much a part of our family.

I am thinking of you this morning. I am sorry you have to go through this. Just remember you are giving your kitty one last gift of love by letting her go & end her suffering & sadden. She will always be in your heart & you will always have the happy memories of her. Those not even death can take away.

Oh my goodness...I got on here this morning thinking maybe 2 or 3 people had responded to my post about my cat, and was just shocked to see 36!!! I immediately started crying, just thankful for all your support and kind words, and stories about your own pain when some of you had to let one of your pets be put to sleep too.
