I am soooo sorry. I lost my kitty (after 18 wonderful years) about a month ago and it still feels like yesterday. It will get better ( or so they tell me). You can also be comforted in the fact that you gave him a great life and was there for him in the end.

I was glad to see someone posted the Rainbow Bridge for you though - I still cry reading it, it makes me remember my dog that passed away quite a few years ago now but it's better to remember, believe me. hugs to you now though

Every time I read a post like this, I remember my sweet Sydney who died a year and a half ago...

It's hard at first but eventually you can let go of the heart wrenching grief and start remembering the good times and the funny stories without crying.

In March I lost my angel boy Charlie...suddenly and much too early for sure. And just last month my dog, Whitely ahd to be put to sleep.

They take pieces of our hearts with them, that's for sure. I did get another kitty - for my dd who wanted one. His name is Sampie and almost a year later I can tell you he too has stolen my heart which I didn't think was possible after loosing Charlie...it was just as you described in your OP, heart breaking for certain and I cried for months I think. You will move on with your fur baby in your heart - it just takes time.

Thank you to all of you who have posted. I feel so grateful to know that there are people who understand that he wasn't "just a cat" He was my first baby, a beautiful ball of fur who stole my heart the moment I met him. I gave up living in a 21st floor Puget Sound view condo to have this cat, they did not allow pets so I moved, and I never once regretted it.

I have burst into tears many times today but I am trying to remember that he had a good life and he knew he was loved so much til the very end.

Thank you everyone. This has meant a great deal to me, you have no idea.
