My kitten "eats" and "drinks" in her sleep

My kitten cracks me up. :cat: When I get on the computer, she parks herself between the keyboard and the monitor. She falls asleep, usually on her back, and proceeds to dream. Sometimes she growls (which she NEVER does when she's awake) but what she does most often is "eat" or "drink." Her mouth starts twitching and then she begins to lap up some imaginary something with her tongue. She sticks it really far out and it goes on for quite some time. It's a pretty regular thing when she naps.

Considering she weighs 7 1/2 pounds at 6 months old, I guess eating is her hobby, even in her sleep. :lmao: Before anyone tells me I need to put her on a diet, she's a Siberian, so she's destined to be a BIG girl.

I've seen dogs dream and make faces and noises, but cats....not so much. This one makes a habit of it. Funny girl. :)

Lol I have two kittens who are also about 6 months old now. I haven't seen them eating or drinking in their sleep but running or chasing something and rolling around on their backs is quite common.

The really cute one is when I take a shower they have a tendency to sit on the edge of the tub and try to peer around the curtain. They aren't too bad with water but if they get splashed at all they will kind of jump back and take a while to try again. When I get out of the shower they tend to just look at me all wet like they are thinking "Why would she do that to herself!!" and then run away.

My cat does that too. I don't know why I do this, but sometimes I wake her up if I hear her wimpering. It's like she's having a nightmare and I can't bare to listen to it. I know, I'm nuts.

One of our cats makes funny humming/sighing sounds when he sleeps. One twitches her face/whiskers and paws when she is heavily asleep, and the third rolls onto her back and kneads the air. Thay are all so cute!

I did tape it with my camera, but DH says the file is HUGE. Bear in mind, I am clueless as to this stuff. So I have reset the camera to a setting for email attachments in hopes I can catch her again.

I picked her off the breeder's website because she was pretty, but mostly because she looked mischievous. Boy, can I pick 'em! So far, my favorite episode has been when she was 4 months old and I heard a funny noise.....and found her swinging from my dining room light fixture. She had wrapped her two front legs/paws around it and was swinging like a monkey. :rotfl2: I had to pull her off.....She was NOT letting go.

Lately, she amuses herself by pulling my towel off the shower while I am in it. She's amused by it...Me, not so much.

But who wants a boring cat? :cat:

Be warned, you may get a surprise one day. I had a big garden tub and my cat, who was then closing in on 10 or so, used to love to walk the perimeter while I bathed. One day, she just kept studying the water and studying it. I thought to myself, "If I didn't know better, I'd swear she was going to jump in this tub."

And then she did. I expected a frantic, wild cat clawing and jumping to get out, but nooooooooo. She just walked around in there as calmly as you please, checking it out. I drained the water as quickly as possible. :rotfl: She never did it again.

So someday, you may get a tub o' cats.

Lol the tub o' cats comment made me laugh because this morning all three of my cats were apparently rolling around, play fighting, and just being goofy in the bathtub. My husband was watching them since sometimes the big one will pick on with one of the little ones but there was no growling or hissing so he let them go... Of course there was no water in it then.

My big cat would climb in the kitchen sink but not go under the water he doesn't like it that much (but spraying him with a water bottle does not work as punishment unless you get them right in the face for any of my cats... actually something that smells strong like deodorant seems to bother them more. Hmm so maybe one day one of them will really join me in the bath. :lmao: it wouldn't worry me too much if they did since our shower doesn't get too much pressure (I have been in rainstorms where the water hit with more pressure) as long as they don't start freaking out and clawing me and getting water everywhere.

We have a very commical 6 month old kitten, also.

Last night, I was in the bathroom getting ready for bed. In walks our kitten Ellie. Recently, she's figured out that if she catches me in the bathroom, she has my undivided attention for a few minutes :rotfl: Figures, I finally get the kids to leave me alone in the bathroom and now I have a kitten!!

Anyway, I was changing clothes and she jumps onto the toilet seat and stretches up so that her front paws are on my bare leg and her back are on the toilet seat. Ofcourse, while I have my arms over my head, taking my shirt off, her back paws slip and she falls in the toilet:scared1: Not before attempting to stick her front claws into my leg to save herself!!!

So she runs off to sulk and I get into bed. Half an hour later, she jumps on the bed, wanting the cuddle that she never got....except she's visited the litter box. Kitty Litter and wet cat are not a good combo!!!!!

These stories are so funny and cute. I just had to share.:goodvibes

Back when my cat was a kitten, she loved water. After I had taken a shower, she'd hop into the tub and roll around in the left over liquid. Well, one day my dad heard this most pitiful crying coming from the bathroom. He heard water running which was odd since he was the only one home. And there in the shower was a soaking wet cat. She had managed to turn on the faucet in the tub, but got a little more than she bargained for. :lmao:

Poor baby still does not trust any type of running water, but will go after the still stuff. So, at least we don't have a pool. :rotfl:

Ah, the fun of owning pets!

My dog has always been very animated in his sleep. He barks, he growls, he "runs" (his paws move like crazy) in between snores.

LOL Our Tigger loves to lay in the bathroom sink, it's so funny...and he starts purring as soon as he walks into the bathroom, not a clue why he does but he does. lol

My cat snores. We think she's got some sinus issues, but that's the main time it comes out.
