I, like many others, received a Kindle for Christmas. I didn't know if I would want one, but I ended up LOVING it. I spent all day yesterday reading a great chick-lit type book, and then all of a sudden the display just stopped working correctly. It looked almost as though there was a crack in the screen, although there wasn't a visible crack.
I called Amazon, and explained the problem, and they are sending me another one. I don't know if I should be annoyed that the device broke or pleased with the hassle-free service (my phone call with Amazon was answered quickly, and I was off in less than five minutes). I guess I am a little of both!
Has anyone else had problems with their Kindles?
*****Update
M new kindle arrived this morning at around 10:00 am. I was able to pick up on my book right where I left off. I try not to get upset when problems arise. I do however care about how the problem is solved. I called Amazon at 11:45 pm on Monday night, and by 10:00 am Wed morning my problem was fixed at NO cost to me, and no questions, and no hassle. They want the broken Kindle back, but sent me a mailing label so I could mail it at no cost to me. I am impressed with the ease and speed that this has been taken care of. So many companies have great products (comcast and verizon come to mind) but their customer service is AWFUL and anything BUT hassle-free. I have to say I am beyond impressed and ultimately a happy customer, which for Amazon is good, because that probably means I am a repeat customer!
