Three Things...Gratitude Thread

Good Monday Morning

Let me tell you…..I love noodles!

Welcome to @NannyBeBe

#1 - Spinach Lasagna Roll Ups - I found this recipe on the Kraft website many years ago and I make them a few times a year - especially during Lent.

#2 - Fettuccine Alfredo - I look forward to this when we go to a good Italian restaurant. Homemade Alfredo sauce is amazing and I love it!

#3 - Beef Stroganoff - I make a great beef stroganoff and I use brown egg noodles that I can only find at Meijer. No other store around here sells them.

I'm going for noodles...

Beef Chow Fun - This was a staple for me growing up. It was the specialty of a school friend's family's Chinese restaurant. It wasn't until we moved away that we learned that this is a real treat and that most places don't even bother because of the labor intensive and timely prep involved with the noodles.

Pasta Carbonara - While still hearty, it's a bit lighter than an Alfredo and usually has some veggies (peas) in it for some extra nutrients.

Pho & Ramen - It's not my favorite to eat, but it's the backbone of some funny softball trip jokes for our girls. They love the stuff but the parents never want it. Several times, we were in parking lots trying to decide to go one place or move on, often passing completely on a pho or ramen spot right in front of us. The girls would end up satisfying their cravings by running to a convenience store for the cheap stuff after real dinner.

Evening all,

Not the biggest fan of noodles but pasta however is something I can't live without!

1. Spaghetti carbonara
2. Meatball tagliatelle

These first two are my two favourite long pasta related dishes that I make quite often.

3. Taper candles - bit left field this one but i love sticking these in empty wine bottles, such good decorations.

When the citrus 🍋 🍋 🍊 🍊 🍋 🍋 🍊 🍊 🍋 🍋 🍋 is ready to harvest a long pole with a cage at the end is used to harvest the very top citrus. The top half of the cage is cut in half leaving prongs to slide under and then pull... not easy... but the best fruit is always at the top of the tree... other tool is a Hulu hoe for use in sandy yards

Today's Topic (Tues, 10/7) -let's try to come up with 4 things we're grateful for starting with the letters in the word taco.

So, answers will look something like this:

T- my toothbrush; 'nuff said!
A- avocados, be they sliced, mashed in guac, or in a margarita!
C- cats; We have been cat sitting for my sister's cats and it's made me realize how much I've missed having a kitty in the house.
O- Octopus. They are SO intelligent and amazing. If you haven't watched "My Octopus Teacher," you really should. It's what convinced me not to order octopus anymore when I see it on a menu.

Good Tuesday Morning

T = TEETH - I’m always grateful to have relatively good teeth. I’ve had some issues with them, but not as much as other people I know.

A = APPLE STRUDEL - My mom is bringing one to my house on Sunday for a family get together we are having. It’s so good and I’m very excited about it!

C = CONTAINERS - As in food storage containers. I’m always grateful for these when I have leftovers to put in the fridge.

O = MY LAST NAME - Both my maiden name and married name start with O. It was kinda nice that my initials didn’t change when I got married.

T - Trails...I just got back from 5.25 miles on our local trails.

A - Avocados...I always have some handy. They are super tasty and are a nutrient dense food.

C - Cameras...I've always been big on taking pictures but it's so much easier these days with cameras embedded in our phones.

O - Oklahoma...I spent the weekend with DD19 up at OU, while DH stayed home with DD16. It was nice to have some girls time and hang out with her sorority sisters.

Afternoon all!

I had tacos for dinner last night, first time in years 😋

T - television
. I use mine mostly for background noise during the day as I find it less distracting than the radio, but also without it i couldn't watch films, shows or play games.
A - air fryer. Makes cooking certain things so much quicker, better and easier!
C - cats. Agree with Leebee on this. My house is sadly and currently pet free, and i miss having a cat or cats in the house. Certainly something I'd like to rectify this year after I get back from my holiday.
O - oversized tops & sweaters. Whether tees or jumpers, I'm loving the oversized clothing at the moment. Theyre just so much comfier whether lounging around or out at the parks!
