In the event that comment on the last page was directed at me....I will respond....
Hitting your child and spanking your child are two TOTALLY different concepts. Spanking your child for misbehaving after fair warning is not the same as getting annoyed and striking your child's arm, popping them on the head, hitting or shoving them from the back, or whatever.
I have a very good daughter and she rarely receives a spanking, but when she does, I have her go to her room and think about why for about 10 minutes. I go to her room, she gets her spanking and I bee-line out of there so that she does not see me cry. After about 15 minutes, I go to her room, we talk about it, we hug and we walk out as best buddies like we always are. I am not the perfect mom, but I don't spank my child in anger. I have gotten annoyed with her and popped her hiney for smarting off, but I don't take my anger out on her. If she makes me that mad, I make her go to her room or I walk away - whichever is most convenient at the moment.
