My kids had a sleepover tonight! Awwww...

Ok, my last official night of late nite/early AM DISing is nearing the 'end of summer'.

So, tonight, as DD's bedtime approached, DS told me how he asked his baby sis to 'sleepover' with him, in his room tonight. How sweet! I told him OK, as long as she sleeps and, he keeps his TV volume down low! DD starts PK-4 on Thursday so, I need her (and I) to become more 'scheduled' again. DS moved her toddler(crib) mattress into his room and, all her 'equipment' LOL so she could sleep on his floor. The flip side to this is that DD is getting a regular bed delivered Fri. so, it's probably the last time DS can do this with her. Awwwwww.

But, I just wanted to share my sweet DS (about to be a Freshman) story with you. He really is OK, after all!

And, as I check outta here, I haven't heard a peep from them!

My DD is almost 16. I've been wondering for years why people call them "sleepovers" though. Not usually much sleeping involved LOL

When I was reading your post I was remembering how when my kids were younger they used to want to sleep in each others room sometimes. They are now 14 & 12. But when I read your ds age I thought that is soooooo sweet!!! What a nice big brother!

That's so sweet! My daughters (almost 7 and 4 1/2) want to sleep with each other all the time! I really should have done bunk beds with them. I had to break them of it a couple weeks ago, because they were wanting to do it every night! Now, I have been letting them sleep together in our bed on Friday nights, because DH works nights. They really think this is a special treat. I hope my girls stay as close as they are now growing up. Sometimes, I would stand by the door and listen to their converstations. It was really cute.

Ah, for the good old days. My DS and DD are three years apart and when they were younger they used to have Friday night sleep overs in DS's room. He had bunk beds. This lasted until DS was in the 5th grade and DD was in 2nd. Oh how I miss the togetherness. They are now 17 and 14 and going to the same school again and I can see some of the togetherness coming back but not like the good old days.

Your two sound so sweet. Why not keep that mattress and just store is somewhere so that DD can continue her sleep overs in DS's room. Believe me the sleep overs will not last forever but the memories will.
