I love hearing about what other people's kids do, what they've achieved and what their goals are.

So....take a few minutes to brag about your kids, grandkids, nieces, nephews, kids that are like kids to you or whatever they may be :cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

I'll go first......

DD#1 is almost 17 and she was an awesome soccer player. When the high school team needed a goalie, she stepped up, learned the position in one month, and she started every game for them as goalie. Sometimes she would stay in that position the whole game. She's small, and only 95lbs, but she's super fast, so there wasn't much that got past her.

She also has a beautiful singing voice. She retired from soccer to be in a traveling choir at the high school and is also in the theater group where she's been in several productions. She misses soccer and is thinking about returning.

On the side, she sings at our church and is the youngest cantor to ever sing there (the church is over 100 years old) and she also sings The National Anthem for a local minor league baseball team.

She also loves studying weather. She's a certified weather spotter and gives reports to the National Weather Service which then gives info to local and national weather reporters.

Her goal is to in a Broadway production and to be a storm chaser/scientist/meteorologist

DD#2 is almost 12 and is my stud athlete. She's becoming very successful in her softball career and is being looked at by one of the 3 best teams in our area. She's a pitcher and is throwing close to 50mph. She/we (I say we because I catch for her) practice all the time. She takes pitching lesson and hitting lessons.

Her goal is to be a Division 1 pitcher in college (if she had her choice, it would be Purdue or Florida State).

That's it from me, now it's your turn :-)

My DS20 has Asperger's. Next week, he's going to start a volunteer job at a local park that has a small railroad. He loves trains and is very motivated to go and do whatever needs to be done. His job counselor said he's not work ready, but volunteering would be a good start for him. I'm proud that he's taking the initiative to get out there and expand his horizons!

My DS16 is a singer and actor. He auditioned for a production with a youth theater company. It was his first "cut" audition, meaning not everyone who showed up would get a part. He really wanted a particular role, and thought he might have a decent chance since the show was going to be double cast. Over 100 people showed up for the audition, and only 48 were cast. Not only did DS get the role he wanted, but he got the role for both casts! He worked hard on his audition material and it really paid off.

@Luv Bunnies good luck to your DS with the new volunteer position.
I hope that works out well for him :wizard:

That's awesome about your other son too.
Theater is a lot of fun!!!

My DD16 runs and draws. She went to State Track in 3 events this year. She draws a lot of Disney (see my avatar) and does it really well.

DD13 is almost the youngest in her class (8th grade last year) but took high school English and Math and got all A's last year. She's good at soccer (she's only done rec so far) and a good actress.

I think they're both gorgeous too
::yes::

I guess my kids are superbly average.

They get good grades and are kind and polite.

They're awesomely loud.

I will say that my DD (7) has the mind of an engineer. Always building working Lego pinball and candy machines.

DS sees the good in everyone and is the sweetest soul I know. He's also great with smaller kids and babies.

I love your DD!! Not many would throw that one in there.

DD18 is my wonder kid dancer. She has been doing this since she was 2. She is getting ready to start her SR and final year of dance with both her studio and school. She is on her dance team at school, putting in 12 hours between class and after school practices in. She also takes Dance choreography II at school and is the only tapper on the dance team, so those are all hers to put together. Her class this past year danced to Cups from Pitch Perfect.

Then she moves over to the studio. Puts in another 12-15 hours at the studio. Pointe, ballet, lyrical, jazz, 3 tap classes, 2 production classes, and hip hop. She is one of the competitive edge dancers, so that involves some weekend practice time as well. She's a student helper, so that adds in more dances to remember. It amazes us how many dances these girls remember each year and some of them hold onto those dance for years. Every time we are at a competition and Footloose comes one, our girls break into the routine they did 4 years ago.

With this year being her SR year, she and her dad will be doing the ballroom class. We are hoping that he will be healthy enough to do this with her, but one of her guy friends is on stand by to learn it and fill in if need be.

My son scored in the top 6% in math on the MAPS test. He was also the princpal student of the quater for his grade.
Ny daughter was student of the month in her class.

What really matters to us as parents is their teachers brag on how kind and helpful they are to their fellow classmates and are both peer buddies to their fellow classmates.

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

What do your older kids do?

My older girls are 8.5 and 10. They are great students getting straight A's every marking period which is amazing since I hated school and did horribly. Other than that, one is a sr. brown and the oldest is a red belt in TaeKwonDo. If I said they weren't the two best in their school I would be lying. I know that sounds totally obnoxious, but they really are amazing. They have been taking extra classes, and have been made Jr instructors. They've been to 4 tournaments (they only have them every 6 months) and have each gotten gold in every category (forms sparring and weapons) every time but at the National tournament where my 8.5 year old got a silver in sparring. She was devastated. They have another regional tournament tomorrow so fingers crossed they both do well, and they nor anyone else participating gets hurt! I hate sparring and usually hold my breath and almost die while it's going on!!!

My daughter is weird and quirky and I love her to death.

She's 14, going on 15 and has been no trouble as a teen so far. I really don't expect that to change. She still talks to me about everything and is my BB buddy.

She plays violin and ukulele and couldn't hit the broad side of a barn with a golf ball, baseball, football, or ANY kind of ball if her life depended on it and the ball was attached to the barn with a rope LOL

She is very interested in the Holocaust and went on a school trip to Washington D.C. last month and was able to visit the Holocaust museum, the White House, and several of the Smithsonian museums..among other things. It was expensive and a strain for us, but it will stay with her forever.

One last thing...she has inherited my gene for keeping a messy room :ssst:

My son does a lot of things to make me proud and add to the brag list. But the most important to me is that he has the kindest heart of anyone I've ever known.

My 29 yo DD is married and a social worker working in the foster care system.

DS 26 yo will marry in October. He is a federal law enforcement officer.

They both played in marching band all the way through college and both finished in 4 years, which does not seem to be the norm these days. And they are both gainfully employed.

I love reading brag about your kid posts! I'm also one of those people that loves getting the Christmas letters full of kid brag! Not a huge fan of adult brag, but darnit, raising kids is hard work and we should brag about what they accomplish be it learning something that leads towards self independence or conquering Mt. Everest.

My kids are polar opposites and 9 years apart in age.
One is an athlete and the other a complete brainiac with no hand eye coordination to speak of.
DS played sports from the age of 3.5 and still plays adult league soccer, softball and goes to the gym along with is active in Crossfit.
DD spent 3 years in beginning ballet - yes, beginning! She was very serious just no talent or rhythm.

DD16 is a straight A, IB student. She is now a Jr. in high school, is part of the Athletic Training team at her high school and currently has teal blue hair with mint green ends. I not only agreed to this, I paid out big bucks to properly bleach her brown hair so it would hold the color.
She is super liberal and attempts to bait her extremely conservative brother on a regular basis. She has a permit but no real desire to drive, she says its scary. Her idea of a good time involves a couch, a book and some sort of binge watching on Netflix. She has a close circle of friends that I refer to as the Nerd Herd and is happy and content with herself. She can't decide if she wants to go to college or pastry school, she doesn't want to cook, she just loves to bake. She sleeps as much as she possibly can, always has and probably always will. DD is spoiled and lazy at home but does what she should when at school or in the homes of others. I guess we did ok

DS 25 is 6 months away from earning a Doctorate of Physical Therapy. He will graduate in December 2015 and take his national boards in January 2016. This is the same kid that almost flunked out of college his freshman year. DS has not stopped moving since the day he was born, he is super active, loves sports, is outgoing and goofy. He is super social, never shuts up and loves to push his sisters buttons. He is smart but has not always been focused, high school was all about football and social stuff plus it was easy for him. College was eye opening and quickly kicked his procrastinating unfocused butt! He learned his lesson, got his act together, took summer school and 5 years but he graduated with a BS in Community Health Sciences and applied to 10 Physical Therapy programs around the country. He actually got accepted into two - his first choice and his last choice. He went with his dream school where he is currently the student President. DS is very conservative, outspoken, loves to hunt, fish and be outdoors. He loves guns, rifles and bows. He is 6'4" 260#'s and often referred to as a gentle giant. He's not as spoiled as his sister and he works hard. He has a serious girlfriend who is also a P.T. we like her a lot and wonder if she is "the" one. Only time will tell.

Fun read! :)
It's fun in my house because I truly have a left brained and right brained child and it is so interesting watching their differences. :)

Older DS is very social loves theater has been in several plays at school (he was the lead in the last musical) and at a local children's theater. Plays water polo and guitar. Does well in school. Like other pp he is sweet, polite, brave, confident and good with younger kids. He will soon be volunteering with a group as a mentor for disabled kids. He wants to be an actor when he is older

Younger DS is a math wiz, and his reasoning skills are off the chart. He loves building and wants to be an engineer.(although lawyer might be a good option for him too) he also plays water polo and is a very talented piano player. He is so funny, sweet, empathetic and stands up for the little guy. And he adores his mom. ;)
