My Journals Came Today...

My journals arrived today and I love them. I orderd them from Winkflash. They were 60% off - original price was $36.95 on sale for $14.78 (20 pages). Additional pages were only 40 cents instead of $1 with the sale. It was hard to find a place that had portrait books instead of landscape. I used the 8 x 11 size. I added quite a few pages and it still only came to $40 with shipping.

I used Natalie's old journal pages that I had saved. I used Natalie's designs for the covers and Kelly's design for the back cover.

Shipping was $7.99 for the two books together.

I ordered them on July 23 and they arrived in the mail today (July 30) - pretty speedy!

I can't tell from the pictures or the website...are these hard cover or soft cover books??

Great minds!! I had a couple of free 5x7 credits at Snapfish. I had the same issue with landscape vs portrait, so I made my own journal pages.

I definitely have some plans in mind for the portrait books, though!! Thanks for posting. I use Winkflash for prints a lot, but I've never ordered books from them.

These are hard cover because I wanted to put a picture on the cover. They had other types of covers, also.

thats beautiful! I am completely new to this thread- Can someone point me in the right direction on how to create a trip journal for my son, who will be 5 when we visit Disney?

this is AWESOME! I just found natalie's file sharing- silly newbie question but, after I download the pages I want- what do I do next? Do I insert them into word files and print them like a book? How do I resize them so they fit the full page?

I just uploaded them to WInkflash as if they were photos. I started a new photobook ( I chose full bleed so the photo would be the whole page). Then I just dropped each journal page onto a pge in the photobook in the order I wanted. I hope this maked sense. Any questions, just ask.

Also- When I am making my cover- it says that the areas in the gray will not be seen because they will wrap around the book- it seems to cut off the bottom of chip and dale (using the same cover as you) and on the right side of pluto- is there a way to fix that?

First you pick the style book and size you want. Then it will ask you to give it a name and right under that it says "Start your book with this deisgn theme" and there is an arrow with a list of choices. That is where I chose full bleed.

To help Chip and Dale not get cut off I opened a new Publisher document and made it 8 x 11. I inserted the cover and made it a little smaller so there was still white around all four sides. Then I saved it as a .jpeg and uploaded it for my cover. There is probably an easier way to do it but that was how I did it.

You have inspired me to make journals for our up coming trip... After working on this for a while i'm almost done however I"m having a really hard time with the back cover after I cut and cropped hte back picture it says low resolution the back cover is blurry. do you have the back cover picture you can share? Or is there a way I can go about to get it? Thanks for your help.. and for suggesting winkflash.. This is all new to me...
