My Journal to Me - Comments welcome!

Happy Easter, Anna! Hope you and your family are doing well and have a wonderful weekend!:goodvibes

So sorry for neglecting my WISH journal. Until today I have been doing well food wise. In fact, WI this morning was 160.0 so after only two weeks, all but 0.5lbs of the vacation weight gain is gone!

DH did some major computer upgrades last weekend so I was offline. What should I find when I get back online Monday morning? DCL has dropped the price the May Transatlantic cruise AGAIN! It is $2120.44 for the three kids and I plus a $250 OBC and prepaid gratuities. I talked to DH. He says if I can get all the pieces pulled together, then the kids and I should go. I spent the next two days doing exactly that! Southwest FF tickets to get to Orlando. Spent two hours on the phone with Delta and got 4 FF seats back from Barcelona. Doubletree Hotel in Cocoa Beach with Hilton reward points. Marriott Rennaisance at the Barcelona airport with Marriott Reward points. So, for the price of the cruise, trip insurance, a 1 day car rental to get to the port in Florida, and excursions we are doing on our own, the three kids and I are booked into a broom closet (category 12 inside stateroom) on the Magic leaving in just a few short weeks!

I already told DD3's preschool and DD11's waterpolo coach. I'll talk to the swim coaches today and DD3's dance school on Monday. I still have to talk to DD11 and DD12's schools (really NOT looking forward to that :sad2: ), but I decided in the "big picture" it is more important to experience the Canary Islands, Gibraltar and Spain. The kids will do HW on the ship, but DD11 will miss the second week of state STAR testing.

Anyway, I have thought I was doing ok without WISH. The scale was going down and I even took an hour long walk on the beach tuesday (I needed to clear my head.) But today I relapsed and just mowed through about half a can of pringles. I realized that in spite of everything else I have going on, I really MUST take care of myself and keep this journal active. Again, it is that whole "Big Picture" thing, right?

Anna

Wow Anna, good for you and getting that Cruise together! I really envy you, maybe they'll upgrade you to a larger room? Also, doesn't it usually cost less to upgrade when you get to the terminal the day you sail? If not, you don't spend that much time in your cabin anyway. Two cruises in one year you lucky gal!

That is so awesome that your weight is back down, EXCELLENT JOB!:cool1: That must feel so good! I agree staying on the WISH is part of that big picture. I haven't journaled quite as faithfully lately either (maybe because I know that rat Amy M. is gone and can't yell at me anymore) and it really makes me stop and realize how much I need this. So lets stick it out together! Hey remember our 42 by 42? I am going for 43 by 42.5 now. Thats 43 pounds by June 25. You will help me and I will help you!

Hope you have a nice Easter! Keep up the good work!

I didn't eat junk today:banana: , but I didn't eat great either. Really I MUST get my big but out of the chair and EXERCISE!! I've been doing cruise stuff and laundry all day. I did spend some time in the afternoon with the kids dyeing easter eggs. That was fun!

B - 4 pancakes w/ 1/4c blueberries, 2T maple syrup, 12oz skim milk
S - handful of mini jello jiggler easter "beans" :sad2:
L - 1/2 artichoke w/ dip: LF sr cream, garlic, lemon juice, 1t mayo
D- turkey burger w/ cheddar, tomato, lettuce on whole wheat bun, 12oz skim milk
60oz water - seriously lacking in this department!:sad2:

Have a wonderful Easter everyone!

Anna

Amy - I know I will get upgrade to at least a category 11 (12's only sleep 3). I'm planning on getting to the port early and at least looking into an upgrade at the port - we'll see. At this point, I am just ecstatic to be on the ship:banana: !

I'm still with you on the 43 by 42.5 challenge (except I'm doing 43 for 43 - 43lbs lost for my 43rd year!) We can both do this! It is going to take some dedication, but we will help each other! :cheer2: My next mini goal is to get a nice shiny 30 WISH clippie like yours :) Hoping to get there by May 11!

Hey Anna, sounds like a nice Easter. I forgot to dye Easter Eggs, what a bad mom I am! I think your food looked pretty darn good today. I am with you about getting the old butt out of the chair. My goal was four times this week, looks like I'll make three. I have exactly 10 pounds to go to make my 42.5 goal and over two months to do it. So I had better make it. I know you will, you are really on a roll! You will get that clippie very soon! I looked up the transatlantic itinerary, oh man what is it, something like 8 or 9 days at sea? That sounds so wonderful. We had a category 9, Deluxe Porthole stateroom. Honestly, I would never pay for anything higher. I have a fear of falling overboard so didn't want a verandah and definitely didn't want to pay for it. I am amazed at how well they lay those staterooms out. You will be fine. And you are right to feel good about going on the ship at all! I am so excited for you!

And don't let the schools wig you out. That is such an incredible deal you would be insane not to go. That will be an incredible experience for your girls. And the emphasis is that they are indeed YOUR girls. I took my kids out for 6 school days total and only got flack from one or two teachers at ds middle school. They got over it, he's a good student and he caught up. It will all work out!

Easter started out decently foodwise, but went downhill at my MIL's :sad2: I did all right with the appetizers and pretty much just stuck to the veggie tray with no dip. For dinner she served a cream soup, lamb, potatoes, and a bean mixture. I don't like lamb. I ate a small serving of potatoes and beans and drank several glasses of wine.:sad2: After dessert we (DH) sat and talked for several hours. I was hungry still so I nibbled on dessert continually! When we got home I was truly craving protein and had a hard boiled easter egg!

8:15a: 2 hardboiled easter eggs, 2 sausage links, 12oz skim milk
11:45a: (at church) 2 strawberries, 2 baby carrots, 4 cantelope chunks, 2 bites of brownie, and 1 tiny piece of baklava
1:30 - 3: lots of baby carrots & pea pods, small handful of tortilla chips w/ mango salsa, 1 glass of wine
3-6:30: nibbled on the lamb, 1/2c mashed potatoes, 1/2c bean mixture, +3 glasses wine, small scoop mango sorbet, way too many cookies & jelly beans!!
7:30p - hardboiled easter egg

I'm definitely ready to start a new week!

Anna

Amy, too funny about not wanting to be high up on the ship for fear of falling overboard. I want to be as high up as possible - Makes me nervous to be close to the water. If I am up high, I can pretend I am not really out in the middle of the giant ocean in a teeny, tiny boat :scared1:

 Anna,

I know what you mean about eating yesterday. I started off with good intentions, but ended up eating way too much food. Today is a new day with new choices...We CAN do this!:cheer2:

That is wonderful that you are getting to go on the cruise! I bet everyone is so excited! :yay:

Have a great day today!:cool1:

Hi Anna
Congrats on booking the DCL Med trip :)
Lucky you!!
I looked at the return one in August, but ship docks in orlando on the Saturday & i'm due at work on the Monday so we would have to fly straight home & i couldnt bear the thought of being soo close to wdw & not being able to visit!!!
I didnt eat good over easter either, i'm sure we'll all get back on that wagon together ;)

Hi Anna,

Congrats on the cruise!!! That is great. I am sure that kids are going to love it. As well as you!!!!

Also, it's great that most, almost all really weight you gained from vacation is gone!!! You are doing great!

Keep up the good work!

Have a agreat day :)

My DBro, DSIL, and kids have been visiting this week for spring break. It has been a really nice visit, but keeps me from :surfweb: time.:rotfl2: I've been eating really well (DBro & DSIL are very healthy). Today we are going to the wild animal park so there will be a lot of walking. In fact, I will be skipping the monorail ride (too long for DD3) so I will get a 50 minute power walk in while everyone else does the ride:banana: . This morning I am finally back down to 159.5 - all the vacation weight is officially gone  ! The transatlantic cruise is 1 month from today. The kids and I fly out 4 weeks from tomorrow. My new goal is to be at 154.5 by 5/11/2007. This accomplishes several things. At 154.5 I will have lost a total of 30 lbs and will get a new clippie:banana: , but even better, at 154.5 my BMI is 24.9 and I am officially no longer "overweight" . I need to lose 5 lbs in 4 weeks - I can do this!!

Congrats on getting rid of those cruise pounds! :cool1: :yay: :cheer2: Just in time to add some more... :rolleyes1 I am SO JEALOUS that you get to do the transatlantic, you are going to have a blast!!! Too bad DH won't get to join in on the girl fun! princess: princess: princess: princess:

I have no doubts that you will meet your goal by the time you leave. 30lbs gone, what an accomplishment! :thumbsup2 Have you gotten any new clothes yet???

Wow Anna, that is so much to celebrate: vacation weight gain gone, transatlantic cruise in just four weeks, and only a few short pounds to be at 30 total and in healthy BMI range! You make me feel motivated! I am so excited for you, you have worked really hard and it shows! You can make that goal and you will! Hope the wild animal park is fun, good for you getting that good non monorail walk in! Hope you have a great weekend!

P.S. I hate lamb too, I had one bite at our Easter Brunch and almost puked. And if I had to sit and talk for a few hours at my mil's house I'd eat dessert too!

Yesterday did not go as well as I had planned:sad2: . The weather was lousy (cold, cloudy and windy) so every single soul who is in So Cal for spring break decided to go inland to the wild animal park! :scared1: The traffic to get into the parking lot was backed up for about two miles. There were lines everywhere inside the park too. For lunch I finally ended up with Nacho's:sad1: from a drink place because there weren't 50 other people in line. The line for the tram was over an hour long so the rest of the group bagged that and I didn't get my power walk in. We did do a lot of walking around the park (at a much slower pace) and I drank over 100oz of water so I guess that is good. With that the day would not have been so bad except last night was Bunko. DSIL and I went and had a great time. The host is a gourmet cook and the food and nibbles were incredible.:cloud9: I ate way, way too much ...
All in all, not a great start to my 5 lbs in 4 weeks, but I'm just going to have to work that much harder now to get to my goal!!!

Anna

AmyM - so good to see you again. I've missed you kickin' my butt when I goof up!! I am so excited about going on the transatlantic. I'm sad DH won't be going, but the girls and I are going to have a blast. Hopefully, I won't do quite as much damage food/drinkwise when I am solo parenting too. :rotfl2:

Amy - :rotfl2: :rotfl2: Hadn't made the connection but the dessert nibbling was definitely MIL stress eating. I have a lot to accomplish in the next 4 weeks, but I am motivated. Your motivation recently has been good for me. You can do it too Amy. You've accomplished a lot already, and you are going to make your goals too!

Had a really nice day with DBro, DSIL, and family today. The weather was good again finally and we were able to spend the day by the pool. In the evening we swam again and roasted marshmellows - fun! I drank either 80 or 100oz of water (lost track of # of tumblers :confused3 ). I ate really well until dinner time. We made Mojitos, but the mint wasn't right, so we just started mixing stuff together and making our own blends :rotfl2: . Sort of reminded me of when we were kids making different concoctions, except now we were using "grown up" mixin's! My favorite was Parrot Bay, Banana Liquor, Cherry Kirsch, Bacardi, and a bit of Club soda!

b- 3 banana pancakes w/ 2T maple syrup, apple, 12oz skim milk
s- 6oz lemon yogurt, clementine orange
l - salad w/ 1/2c grilled chicken, 1T salsa
s - apple
s- way too many chips and guacamole, mojito, a couple other drink "concoctions"
d - 3c taco salad
s - 1 graham cracker, 2 roasted marshmellows
80 or 100oz water
5 f/v

Hi Anna
Congrats on loosing the vacation lb's :cool1:
I'm sure you can make your goal, that cruise is good motivation ;)
Sorry your day out didnt go to plan!!
Like you mixers!! ;)

Hi Anna, you can be my bartender anytime, that sounded tasty! You still have plenty of time to make your goal before your cruise and you will do it! Weekends and out of town guests make it tough but you have really done very well in spite of those things! Just keep up that hard work and it will pay off!

Wow, Anna! That is SO COOL you are getting to do the transatlantic DCL! I'm JEALOUS!!!! I REALLY thought about it, but just can't pull DD from High school and have her miss finals.

Glad the vacation weight is gone. You WILL make your goal by 5/11!!!!

Have a GREAT week this week!!

You are my kind of woman pulling together a trip that quick w/ all those reward nights!!! You ROCK!!

Hi Anna,

Congrats on losing the vacation weight!!! I knew you could do it!!!! You will be able to make your goal by the time the cruise gets here.....

Keep up the good work!!!

Have a great day :)

DBro and family left midmorning on Saturday. Sunday I was at a swim meet all day with DD12 & 11. It was cold, windy, and off and on rainy (what happened to Spring!?), but the kids did really well. I don't remember all I had to eat, but I only brought healthy snacks (bananas, oranges, pretzels, string cheese, etc), so there was no opportunity to cheat:rotfl2: . WI this morning was up a bit to 161.0, but I'm guessing that was from the pretzels and really low water intake. Hopefully it will all flush out in a day or two. Need to run the kids to the pool for swim. I'll try and get back on tonight.

Thanks everyone for stopping by and all of your support!:grouphug:
Anna

Congratulations on losing the vacation weight, Anna!:cool1: I knew you could do it!:thumbsup2 You can definitely make your goal by the time your cruise comes around. You CAN do it, Anna!:cheer2:

Hope you have a great week!:goodvibes
