My Journal to Me - Comments welcome!

Hello all! Sorry to have gone MIA. We leave way too early tomorrow morning (I am not even convinced it is worth it to go to sleep at all :scared1: ) for our "trip for two" to WDW and 4 day Wonder cruise. In the last week I have been a crazy person getting all the kids stuff/directions/etc ready for my mom, getting the PTA newsletter done (man, I am so ready to be done with that!!), getting instructions done for the gal that will actually put the newsletter in the teachers' boxes for me tomorrow, paying bills, etc. and oh yeah, packing!!! Everything is done now except for the packing....

I have made stupid/stress eating choices but luckily the scale still said 159.5 this morning. I hope it is not too horrible when I get back :scared1: . Thanks for not letting me fall to page two. I'll be back to WISH full force when I get back on 3/23 :)

Ok, I have to leave for the airport in 7.5 hours, better get going...

Anna, I am thinking about you and knowing you will have a wonderful trip! Don't worry about your weight and the food, just enjoy yourself, good habits will be yours to return to!:wave2:

We made it back late Thursday night. It was a great trip for DH and I. We missed the kids on the cruise part though. I took mom to the airport Friday and have been trying to do kid stuff/unpacking/laundry ever since. I didn't know DH was taking friday as a vacation day too. He wants to continue in vacation mode for a few more days. Great, but I got stuff to do, ya know?:confused3 I'm ready for him to go back to work now so I can get back into my routine.

Our trip was great. I don't know if I'll get a trip report done or not, but here is the "cliff notes" version. We arrived Wednesday evening checked into Pop and had a phenomonal dinner at Boma. Thursday morning early we checked out of Pop, took a taxi to Beach Club and checked in there for the start of our Land and Sea Package. We were then headed to Animal Kingdom by 8:20a. We did most of the shows and rides there including Expedition Everest (why didn't I know that pretty much the whole darn ride was backwards ?!?! ). About 1:30pm we headed over to Magic Kingdom and again did everything we wanted to over there (skipped most of the stuff that is the same as Disneyland). By 6pm it had started to thunder and lightening and pour rain. But that was ok because we were headed to Le Cellier(Canada) at Epcot for another excellent dinner. We finished dinner just as Illuminations was starting and found a great spot (the rain had chased the crowds away). Friday was more low key. We spent pretty much the entire day - 9am to midnight - at Epcot. We saw all of Future World, all but two countries in the World Showcase, and Illuminations again that day. We had a good lunch at Crown & Rose Pub (England) and a late dinner at Marakkesh (Morocco). We also went to Beaches & Cream in the late afternoon for a banana split (yummy!). Friday morning was Early Morning Hour at MGM. We rode Tower of Tower first thing (I can now say I have done this one. I don't ever need to do it again though!) and then Rockin' Roller Coaster (this one I loved!). After those two we headed out to do the rest of the park. The Lights/Stunts/Action car stunts show was fantastic! We had lunch at Sci-Fi diner (fun, but slooooww service). At 5pm we headed back to Epcot to see the last two countries in World Showcase and for our Anniversary dinner at San Angel Inn (Mexico). We had planned to stay for Illuminations again that night, but by 8pm we had done all we wanted to do at Epcot and decided to head back to the Beach Club. I had thought maybe a dip in the pool and getting our bags ready for pickup the next morning - Nope! I was sound asleep by 9pm. Friday morning I scrambled to get our bags ready by 8am and was then determined to swim in Stormalong Bay (the Yacht & Beach Club pool). Couldn't talk DH into swimming with me though. Something about it being 54 degrees outside, and was I crazy? The pool was +80 degrees, but the walk/run up to the top of the slide was "brisk" (better descriptive words would be censored!) I did the slide and swam the length of the pool and then back to the hot tub where I spent the remainder of my pool time. :) I reluctantly got out at 10:45 to shower and get dressed for the start of our cruise. Oh, and I did go back to Beaches and Cream for a chocolate malt for "breakfast" :rotfl2: before we got on the cruise bus.

Our time on the ship was much more low key. We spent Monday at the Quiet Cove pool (book & drink of the day:cloud9: ). Tuesday at Castaway Cay I parked DH in a hammock by the snorkel area first thing and then took about an hourlong walk out to Serenity Bay, along the Bike trails, and up the Observation Tower. It felt great to get a good walk in. At 10:30a DH and I did the jetski ecotour - FUN! - and then we had lunch at Cookies BBQ and headed over to spend the afternoon at Serenity Bay - book, beach chair at the water's edge and Konk Koolers:cloud9: . Wednesday we did lots of ship activities including Palo Brunch.

WISH wise, I think I was fine at WDW. We did eat at nice places and I ordered what I wanted including dessert, but I generally had a granola bar for breakfast and almonds in the afternoon as a snack and we fast walked pretty much the whole day each day. The cruise is another story. I did take the stairs all the time, but I also ate pretty much nonstop from Sunday afternoon until Thursday morning :sad2: . Literally I started eating with breakfast by 8am and then kept eating every couple of hours until midnight each night! I ate every meal in a restaurant. I had butter on my bread (haven't done that in nearly a year!) I ordered room service cheese platters, cookies, and mickey bars. I had pizza, chicken strips, wraps & ice cream while out by the pool. I even had a turkey leg at 11pm from the Pirate party buffet! The scale is not my friend right now. Friday morning - 170.5 (11 lb gain! :scared1: ).

I am back on track now except for major sweets cravings.
Friday:
b- scrambled egg, wheat toast w/ 1t marmalade, clementine orange, 12 oz skim milk
s- apple
l - green salad w/ 2T cheese, 10 grape tomatoes, 2T salsa, shared a mickey rice krispie treat w/ DH
s - apple, granola bar
d - small portion pork tenderloin, 1c broccoli, green salad w/ green onion, grape tomatoes, sprinkle parmesan, oil & vinegar
s- FF pudding cup
88 oz water

Saturday: WI this morning - 167.0
b - 3 pancakes w/ 1/2c FF yogurt, 1/2 c blueberries & cherries
l - green salad w/ 2T chopped pork tenderloin, 1T cheese, 6 grape tomatoes, 2T salsa
s- mickey rice krispie treat (they are all gone now!)
d - :confused3 going to a neighbor's 40th B'day party ...
96 oz water so far

I know I need to put stuff in Fitday to really see what the nutriional info is. Also, now that the time has changed, I can start walking again while DD's are at swim practice:cool1: My very ambitious goal is to be back to 159.5 by the end of the month. It is scary how easy and fast it was to pack on some serious pounds. I will be back to WISH on a regular basis. I want to take this vacation weight off and then take the rest of the weight off for good too.

Wow Anna it sounds like you had a great trip :goodvibes
I loved reading your mini trip report, it bought back lots of memories :)
I've never tried beaches & cream, i think thats going on my to do list ;)
What did you think of the San Angel Inn? Wasnt my favourite but glad i did it!
I'm seriously struggling to think of different places to eat on our next trip!
Want to try Morroco - did you like it?
Any recommendations??
I'm sure the holiday gain will dissapear quickly now your back on track!
Isnt it madening that its so easy to gain but soooo hard to loose?? :confused3
OOh what i would give for a konk Kooler at Serenity Bay & Palo's brunch again, no DCL in sight for us though :(
At least i can re-live it through you ;)
Welcome home!

Hi Anna,

Welcome Back! It sounds like you and your DH had a great time!:goodvibes Thanks for sharing your mini-trip report with us.:thumbsup2

Don't worry too much about the vacation weight gain. I know you will do a great job this week and those pounds will just melt right off.:thumbsup2

How did you like the Beach Club? It's my favorite resort on property!

Hope you have a great week!:cool1:

Anna welcome home! I really thought about you and I am SO glad you had fun! I really enjoyed your mini trip report, I could just see you doing all those things. Sorry I didn't mention the part about EE going backwards! How did you like San Angle Inn? I love that place. Its like Blue Bayou Latin Version! I am betting its good to be home however. Now, do not even worry about those pounds. At least half of that is water and it will come off quickly. Why go on a cruise and not enjoy the good things you paid for? You had fun and now you are home and will get right back on track! We missed you, its good to "see" you again!

Had a blast Saturday night at the neighbor's 40th b'day party. I made good food choices, but I also had 2 martini's, a margarita and a large glass of red wine. I would have had more too, but the bar ran out of everything but tequila & beer:rotfl2: . The birthday girl is a huge U2 fan. Her DH found an awesome Bono impersonator! Had a blast singing & dancing with "Bono" and the band:rotfl2: . The kids were not so impressed with the band however. Our house is across the street and the kids are in the front bedrooms. They decided to sleep in the bonus room (back of the house) since their rooms were "too noisy".:rotfl2:

WI Sunday morning and again Monday morning is 166.5. So, I think the water gain is gone and I have some serious work in front of me. I've decided my Castaway Club notebook would make a good food journal and I also logged everything into Fitday yesterday (not too pretty). I was excited to see 167 Saturday morning. Now it that same dang number I was stuck on for so long :furious: I was tempted this morning to do the cabbage soup thing for a week because I know I can lose 5-7lbs fast that way, but I also know that is not a healthy way to go:sad2: . As much as I would like to get back to the 150's this week, I also really have to remember the big picture - healthy weight loss that I can maintain long term. I don't know. What do you all think?:confused3

Sunday:
10am- 90 cal granola bar
11am - scrambled egg, 2 sausage links, 3/4c hashbrowns, 1c grapefruit
2:30p - clementine orange

6:30p - 2/3c FF yogurt w/ 1/4c cherries
7pm - 1/2 wholewheat turkey sandwich
Totals: Cal: 1392, Fat: 63g, Carbs: 142g, Fiber: 17g, Protein: 79g
5 f/v
96 oz water

Amy - I wore my SeaBands all day/everyday in the parks just for the rollercoasters. I only needed them the 1st & last day on ship :rotfl2: and then for a day after we got home. I don't know if they really work or not, but psycholgically they work for me, so I wear them :rotfl2: Dh and I both thought San Angel Inn is like Blue Bayou. It is a sentimental favorite for us.

Tracy - I loved the Beach Club! Even though it is expensive, I love the proximity to Epcot and all the themeing too. I wish we had more time to really enjoy the property, but the weather was not good and our real focus was on getting as much out of the parks as we could.

Tracey - Marakkesh was good, but I am guessing you probably have better curry in the UK. The baklava was really good. The belly dancer was good entertainment, but we almost missed it. Our ADR was for 8:45pm. I found out that day that the last belly dance show was at 8:10pm. Luckily, we were able to change our ADR to 7:45pm. Boma was surprisingly my favorite. I definitely would recommend it. Beaches & Cream is also a lot of fun for a midafternoon ice cream break or a chocolate malt breakfast :rolleyes1 Konk Koolers, a good book & Serenity Bay are my definition of a perfect vacation :cloud9: We won't be taking a DCL cruise again anytime soon, but hopefully we will be back again in another couple of years.

Welcome back! Sounds like you had an awesome trip. :thumbsup2

Don't worry about the weight, it will come off quickly once you get back into a healthy eating plan. I bet you maybe gained 2-3 "real" pounds, the rest of it just pesky water weight. The sweets craving is going to be tough to shake - hard to get rid of, easy to get back, it's not fair is it?? :confused3

Personally I would recommend NOT doing the cabbage diet, you know how to eat healthy and you know you will get back down to 159 soon. I suggest upping your water intake, keeping your carbs in check and being diligent about your food for the next week and you will be back under 160 the healthy and smart way! :goodvibes

I did ok food wise today. I ate at weird times, but overall the numbers were ok. I had major cravings for sweets and junk, but I resisted or made healthy substitutions  . Goofed on the water though. I though I had drank more but realized around 9pm that I was short. At that point it was too late to make it up unless I wanted to be up all night :rolleyes1 . Still have not gotten back into any kind of exercise habit, but at least I'm thinking about it...

8a - 1c GoLean Crunch, small apple, clementine orange, 12oz skim milk
11a - small apple
2:20p - Nature Valley Sweet & Salty Almond granola bar
4:30p - LF LC wedge, 15 mini pretzels
7p - 1/2 wholewheat turkey sandwich, 3c salad w/ 2T cheese, 1T salsa, 12 oz skim milk
Totals: Cal: 1192, Fat: 29g, Carbs: 175g, Fiber: 24g, Protein: 72g
4 f/v
70oz water

Amy - I have such a weekness for sweets:sad2: . I know i just need to go cold turkey for 3-4 days and then I should be ok. You are right about the Cabbage soup diet. I was pleased yesterday that my Calories & Fat grams were back to a decent area, but I need to watch the carbs too. Thanks for reminding me. :)

Hi Anna,

Sounds like you had a great time this weekend!:cool1:

That's great that you were able to resist the sweets yesterday.:thumbsup2 Don't worry about the exercise... You'll get back on track soon!:goodvibes

Have a great day!:cool1:

Hi Anna,

Welcome back!!! Thanks for sharing your mini-trip report with us!!! Makes me want to go to WDW now!!! I don't want to wait.
Sounds like you and DH had a great time!!! Don't worry about the vacation weight, it will come off soon. You have done a great job getting back on track.....keep it up!!!

Have a great day :)

Your totals for yesterday look great! It is SO hard to fit in exercise with all the other things that us moms have to do. But sometimes you just have to sacrifice something else and get it done. You'll get there again, especially with the weather getting nicer!!

Hi Anna, I would say avoid the cabbage soup diet. If you do something like that following a trip your body may go a bit haywire and that quick loss will be even more quick to come back and then you'll just delay the whole process overall. Just keep doing what you know is right and works, even if its slower than you like. I feel the same way a bit, I keep seeing these L.A Weight Loss commericals of losing 25 pounds in 8 weeks. Ashamed to say I did that a few years back, gained it all back plus another 15 and know its a dumb program but still feel tempted sometimes! The weight loss thing is a constant struggle of good vs. evil with food and method and it gets old sometimes huh? That sounds like a very fun party, I am laughing about your girls moving to the back of the house!
