My Journal to Me - Comments welcome!

That stinks about the cruise, but I think you were already mentally prepared for it, right? And you still get an awesome trip in a couple months! :cheer2:

I'm glad everyone is on the road to recovery. Being sick is no fun, especially for kids!

Hope you are having a great week, Anna! :goodvibes I'll "see" you when I get back from WDW!

Take good care of you.

Thanks everyone for stopping by. I appreciate it :grouphug: . My resolve for getting back on track this week lasted all of 1 day :sad2: Tuesday was good, then Wednesday breakfast, lunch and dinner involved cookie dough. I told DH I simpy cannot have that stuff in the house. Please don't buy it anymore. :sad2: . Yesterday was better, but I did not eat enough during the day and was ravenous by dinner time. Picked up Taco Bell on the way home from swim practice :sad2: . I know if I were organized and had easy snacks and meals available it would be better. Right now I can't find the time to get organized though. . I just need to muddle through this next month and do my best. At this point I will be happy with no gain for the month.

Off topic: On the news last night, the lead story was the "extreme cold we're having". Yep folks, it is dropping into the 40's at night and only getting into the low 60's during the day  :rotfl2: . DD12's attire yesterday: turtleneck and my Ugg boots with daily shorts. :rotfl2:

:lmao: That is too funny, Anna! Here in Ohio, it has been beautiful all week and yesterday, the temperature dropped from 50+ degrees to 30 degrees in a little over a couple of hours. BRRRRRR....

I hear ya about the food thing WISH sis.... I think the month of December is going to be a month for me where I strive just to maintain what I have lost. With WDW and the holidays, it can be quite a feat.... The New Year will be upon us soon and we can definitely recharge our weight loss batteries then! :thumbsup2 I say just do the best you can and the New Year will follow! :teeth:

Have a wonderful weekend! :sunny:

We had that cold snap too! Except we actually got into the 30's at night, it was awful! One day it only got up to 57 degrees. DD7 wouldn't go to soccer practice because it was too cold. I don't blame her, I was freezing! We're cold weather wimps... :confused3

This past month was way harder than I thought it would be. I guess maintaining should be the goal, huh? I know what you mean about the cookie dough. I swear, they put something addictive in that stuff!

You'll get out of your funk soon, this time of the year just stinks for staying healthy.

Thats summer tempretures for us!!

I think thats sensible to just try & maintain this month, i'm trying to do the same!
Have a great week :thumbsup2

I think maintaining is a good idea...

Good luck...to all of us!!!!
Stay warm!!!

Yesterday was almost decent for the first time compared to the past few weeks. WI Monday was 164.5 no loss/no gain. That helped keep me motivated to at least try and make sensible choices and use portion control. One Holiday party this week and three next week will definitely test my resolve though. My biggest weakness is eggnog. I could probably live happily on just eggnog for the whole month. :cloud9: I don't actually put "grown up" stuff in it. I like it plain and, at least at the beginning of the month, I cut it down with nonfat milk. My kids love the stuff too.

DD11 ended her season with a soccer tournament over the weekend. They played really, really well. The team party was Friday night at El Torito - didn't portion control my chips and salsa at all plus 2 margaritas. :sad2: , but it was a really nice evening. Most of the girls have been playing together for +5 years (DD joined the team 3 years ago) and this is the last year they will play together. DD will see most of them next year at Middle School though. Nice group of girls.

b - egg, whole wheat toast, 1/2c grapefruit, 8oz FF milk, 4oz eggnog
l - apple, salad w/ turkey, egg, avocado, tomato, olives, sprinkle bacon, 1T blue cheese dressing
s - Mini nutterbutter cookies, 1 serving potato chips, 2T onion dip (at least I measured the chips and dip  )
d - slice meatloaf, slice whole wheat bread, baby carrots, 8 oz skim milk
s - 4 oz skim milk w/ 2 oz eggnog

We are definitely cold weather wimps too. DD's actually liked going to swim practice. The pool is heated to 82 and "steamy". Of course, they don't like to get out. We run to the car and turn the heat on FULL for the drive home. Warmed back up though now - 50s/60's at night and 60's/70's during the day. We are back in flipflops again. :sunny: I could happily have summer warm weather year round. It is a little weird to go get the Christmas tree in shorts though ...

AHHHHH! You said the word "eggnog"!! It is soooo my weakness too. When you mentioned the notion of living on the stuff for a month, I temporarily went into fantasyland and wondered how wonderful life would be if that were true..... :cloud9: :rotfl2: I sure hear you about how hard it is to stay on track during this season! With all the parties, EGGNOG, and I'm still working on my Halloween candy from MNSSHP in October! Have a good week and congrats on not gaining!

I've never tried eggnog!!!
Does it have egg in it? Raw egg??
Sorry but that doesnt sound appealing to me!!! :)
Well done on maintaining :)

Okay Anna stop killing me with your weather tales! I need to move to San Diego...

GREAT job staying the same on the scale. That is a huge accomplishment this time of year (or anytime of year for that matter). I love eggnog too. I am going to try your idea of thinning it out with some skim. Sometimes I put a tablespoon or two in some hot tea. Sounds gross but its tasty. Got that idea from Starbucks with their eggnog coffee, since I"m not a coffee drinker i sub tea. It just gives a hint of flavor. But then of course I end up drinking more just straight. Sometimes right out of the carton  ! At least I get my dairy in right? Keep up your good work! Did you decide on a value yet for March?

I've actually behaved foodwise for most of the week. I'm headed out to Bunco in a few minutes though, so that whole "behavin' " thing will have to take a backseat for the evening. I even got in 60 minutes walking yesterday (yes, I really did walk for the first time in a month!) Took DD3 to see Santa and his Reindeer yesterday - at DL! The weather was nice so I made a spontaneous decision to head up for a few hours. Power walked from the parking structure to the park (20 minutes each way) and then did some more powerwalking around the park. Luckily DD3 is content to sit in her stroller and "watch" things as we go by. :rotfl2:

I also finally decided to cut my hair this week. It was midback and really, really thick - read "tangled mess" most of the time if not in a ponytail. Now it is just above my shoulders with some layers - cute and so far, easy to take care of. The big surprise: Monday WI was 164.5, Tuesday was the same. Wednesday 162.5!!! I joked with DH that I cut 2lbs of hair off. :rotfl2: I don't really think it was that much (maybe a lb though.), but what a nice surprise and kept me really motivated to eat well at DL - grilled veggie skewers for lunch & 2 bites of DD's mickey soft pretzel. Today was back to 163.0 - I'll take it.

DH has jury duty this week and had the morning off. We decided to go get our Christmas tree while the kids were in school. Won't be doin' that again. Boy, were they mad when they got home and we had the tree. DH and I didn't decorate or anything, but I guess the whole "picking out" part was important to them. Who knew? :confused3

CJK - I think eggnog is one of those heavenly things too :cloud9: . I really do think I could live on it, at least for a little while. I am trying to limit myself this year though to just a little each day. so far, so good. I found a new brand this week though. Much more nutmeg-y and not so sweet. It is really, really good.

Tracey - I think traditionally it would have raw egg in it, but I buy it at the grocery store and it is pasturized (sp?). It is definitely an acquired taste. Either you like it or you don't. There doesn't seem to be a middle with people. I'm firmly in the "like it" camp obviously. :rotfl2:

Amy - I like the eggnog in tea idea. I'll have to try it. I'm not a coffee drinker either. Every once in awhile when I'm out with friends I'll try some latte/mocha/something drink at Starbucks because it just sounds so yummy. Every time I confirm that I still don't like coffee, no matter what's in it. Eggnog in tea is a great idea though! Thanks for your input over on the resorts boards - based on yours and others suggestions, we decided to stay for 1 night at Pop. Should be fun. I actually made my final payment for the room and our cruise package this morning. :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc (and yes, I have drunk eggnog straight from the carton too  )

Hi Anna,
Your hair sounds lovely :)
Sorry but i'm on the kids side with the xmas tree, picking it out with my parents was one of my fav things when i was little! But at least you know now!!!! :)
Well done on WI
Tracey

From the sound of your new haircut, we could be twins! ;) Who knew that getting your haircut would mean a loss of 2lbs too. :teeth: Congrats on that weightloss. Have a great weekend. I'll join you with putting some eggnog in my tea (or is it tea in my eggnog?? )!!

Hey Anna, sounds like you had Bengal BBQ for lunch at DL! How great to be able to head to DL you and dd for the afternoon. Have I told you that I am really JEALOUS of where you live? Two years ago yesterday, I was at DL with my parents to celebrate stepdad's 80th. So DL was on my mind yesterday! Great job with losing two pounds! And I think your new haircut sounds really cute. Easier is always better! Keep up your good work, the 150's are so darn close I can see them for you!

I guess I am in the minority here - I can't stand eggnog! I think it is repulsive. DS10 loves it and I bought him a little container (and it took him about 5 days to drink it all). I tried it to see if my taste had changed - nope, it still gagged me... :confused3 But don't worry, I make up for the calories with gingerbread and chocolate.

Sounds like you have gotten your eating under control again! Keep it up, at least the scale isn't inching higher!!! :thumbsup2

I "exercised" at DL again yesterday! I love Disney and Christmas. The two together are even better. :teeth: After lunch yesterday DD11 and I decided to head up. It was nice to have 1 on 1 time with DD11. We don't get that very often. Spent most of the time running (excuse me, fast walking) between the big rides. The Christmas parade was really nice and as soon as we had seen the last float (Santa) we jammed over to Space Mountain for another ride. When we finished the ride it was drizzling/raining. We headed over to It's a Small World and stood in the drizzle for about 25 minutes before sitting on wet boat seats (yuck!). We decided not to hang out in the rain for fireworks that may or may not happen. (I read later that they did go off, but not worth waiting in the wet and cold, IMHO). Didn't eat as well this time at DL. Managed to get a walk in at Blue Bayou and split the ribs with DD11. Also shared a churro and a popcorn (really salty!).

WI this morning was back up to 164.0 :sad2: , but I am hoping it is mostly the salty popcorn. Planning on drinking lots of water this week and eating right until the party rounds start on Thursday. Hopefully I can drop back to 162/3. I would LOVE to get to the 150's before the end of the year, but I am going to have to be super dilligent to make that happen. Even then, it will be a stretch.

I know I haven't been good about posting here or on other journals. Thanks everyone for sticking with me. I'm just trying to maintain until the end of the year and then I'll be back daily in January (New Year's resolution!). The support and advice I get from all of you for both good and bad times really do keep me going. :grouphug:

Have a great week everyone!
Anna

Tracey - I've learned my lesson on the tree.

CJK -
or is it tea in my eggnog??
:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Amy - Yes, Bengal BBQ! After all these years I ate there for the first time this year. I love it.
Have I told you that I am really JEALOUS of where you live?
I was appalled 17 years ago when DH said he wanted to move to SD from Northern CA. Now I love it.

Amy - It is better you don't like eggnog. The fat and calories are ridiculous! :rotfl2: What about eggnog cheesecake?

Now that is a dilemma I've never been faced with! Hmm, I'd have to try it at least once...

You are doing great maintaining during the holidays! I think that is all you can ask for, especially with all the upcoming parties. I hope you are able to get into the 150's before the end of the year, it would be the ultimate gift!! But if you don't, there is always next year, it's not like you are going to explode if you don't lose x lbs by x date! :teeth:

Good idea! My news years resolution will be the same :teeth:

You are soooooo lucky to be able to pop over to DL so easily, i envy you way too much

Dont worry too much about that teeny 1lb, i'm sure its somewhere you cant see it any way :teeth:
Have a great week
Tracey

Hi Anna, oh you are so lucky to get to go to DL again! It is so magical at the holidays. I don't think your food was too bad and I would imagine that salty popcorn is the culprit with your scale reading. I love your 42 pounds in my 42nd year idea. I am going to say an additional 42 pounds to what I have lost. If I could do that, I'd be at 77 pounds total by this time next year. So that is my plan! Keep up your good work during this tough time of year, your are doing great!
