My Journal to Me - Comments welcome!

Chocolate chip cookies, now that's my kind of breakfast! :thumbsup2

I'm glad to see you got your walk in! :cheer2:

Sorry to hear about DD's cold. That is always miserable. My DD used to suck on her index finger (I know, she's weird  ) and the first time she went to the dentist he told her it was making her teeth stick out and she immediately wanted to stop. We had to put a sock on her hand for the first couple nights, but after that she was fine...

Things are back to being hectic I see. I really miss the no school, no sports, no dog obedience class days of summer!

Your day at the beach sounded fun & relaxing.
Hope your DD feels better soon, & i'm sure she will love preschool.... yes i know its you that is going to feel sad, but i'm trying to cheer you up :)
Hope tomorrow is less hectic for you (fingers crossed :))

Great job on taking an hour walk on the beach. :cheer2: I love beach walks or trail walks. I don't feel like I'm working out. Glad you had a nice time with your family. Your schedule is hectic!

Hi Anna!!
I'm glad I'm not the only one that has cookies and other bad stuff for b-fast!! :thumbsup2

have a great week!!

I actually thought I had it all together today: ate pretty well (except for the pretzels), got everyone where they needed to be on time, got stuff done around the house, got in a 20 minute walk along the beach while DD's did another ocean swim (both girls swam to the buoy this time!), even had everyone showered, in PJ's and sitting down to supper at 5:45p! All this with DH out of town. Then I realized my own bonehead mistake of the day - PTA newsletter was still at the printers! I was supposed to pick it up after swim this afternoon. :faint: The new printer is 1.5 blocks from the pool, but 20-30 minutes from my house. Sigh, got dressed and headed back out ...

Food:
8:15 - 1c cheerios w/ 1/3c dried cherries, 12oz skim milk
10:30a - apple
12:30p - 1/2 ham sandwich, 1c grape tomatoes
2:45p - apple, 14 chocolate covered pretzels
5:45p - 1/2 grapefruit, 2 scrambled eggs w/ turkey & cheddar, 1 slice blueberry swirl toast, 12oz skim milk
7:45p - another handful chocolate covered pretzels (didn't count :faint: them) :sad2:
5 f/v

102 oz water
20 minute beach walk w/ jogger stroller :cool1:

Amy - all of the girls have sucked their thumb. DD#1 just stopped on her own one day. We had to try all sorts of things with DD#2, but eventually she stopped. DD#3 only sucks her thumb when she is going to sleep. I am hoping she will stop on her own. She will definitely need braces though (bad genetics :rotfl2: - sorry kid! ) Yes, I definitely miss the "lazy" days of summer even though they didn't seem so lazy at the time ...

Tracey: thanks for the smile. I know she is going to have a great day, but I will miss her. She has been my constant companion for the past +3 years. With my older two, there were two of them. When they each went off to preschool, it was hard, but nice too. I'm going to be lonely without my baby! I know I will get used to it and enjoy having time to myself again, but right now I'm feeling sorry for myself (where is the little violin pity party smilie - found him! :charac2: )

Jane: you are right, a beach walk doesn't feel like working out. It is really calming for me too. I took your consistency advice today and took another beach walk even though it was a short one. I promised DD3 that we could build sand castles at the beach after our walk. I could have walked longer, but she had been so good, I wanted to make sure we had time for our sand castles before the older two finished their ocean swim. (Still freaks me out that they are out swimming beyond the waves with all the fishes and other stuff!!!)

Marie: Oh, I have eaten plenty of bad stuff in my day :lmao: . Keeping this journal really has kept me on better behavior though. (Thanks guys :teeth: ) Of course, you notice I haven't been putting everything into fitday recently. I think I don't want to know how many calories and fat grams were in the last several days. :rolleyes1 .

The PTA newsletter may have been left at the printer, but that's a minor setback considering the rest of your day. Way to go!!! :cheer2: Oh how I wish I could walk on the beach!!! Living in Ontario doesn't make that a possibility, so walking trails will have to suffice. I'm looking forward to walking on Cocoa Beach in a few weeks though!! ;)

I hope your youngest has a great day at school.......and that you enjoy having some time to yourself. :grouphug:

I guess one way to look at it is to think of all the time you will have to exercise now that DD will be in preschool! I always worked, so my kids were in daycare. There was really no big change when they started school. I bet it will be a big adjustment, but soon you will enjoy that time to yourself. I wish I had some of that! Of course when I do get some, I don't know what to do with myself... :confused3

You are just a glutten for punishment with those chocolate covered pretzels! The only way I can behave is to not have those goodies in the house. If I do, I will lose the battle. It's sad, I know...

Great job getting that exercise in, you are finally getting back into some sort of a routine! :thumbsup2

Hi Anna,

I'm sorry to hear that your DD has a cold. :( I hope that she is feeling better soon! :goodvibes

You are doing a great job getting back on track with your exercising! Keep up the good work! :cheer2:

Have a great day today! :sunny:

Anna, sounds like you've been having a great time. :cool1: Great job on the beach walk. Your daughters are doing wonderful with their swimming. Its not easy swimming out to the buoys. All of those swim team practices have sure paid off!

Better to forget the PTA at the printer, than the kids at the beach!!!

Great job on getting in the walk and everything else done...you are doing great! (how many more times can we use "great"?)
Oh....I have a hard enough time remembering what I ate, let alone plugging it into the computer! I signed up on fitday and used it.....once! :guilty:
I'm not disciplined enough.....no wonder i'm fat!! :rolleyes1

DD3 had a great first day at preschool :artist: . I felt lost and at loose ends however :sad2: . I did go for a long walk, but I gotta say my heart was not in it. There was no one to talk to and where am I supposed to put my car keys, waterbottle and cell phone when I don't have the stroller? (Even I thought it would look weird to walk around with an empty stroller :rotfl2: ) I am sure I will get into a good routine soon with nice long workouts, but right now it is just strange.

DD3 doesn't even have a runny nose anymore. I, on the other hand, am now completely stuffed up  I know that is not helping my mood any either. Hopefully, the cold will run its course quickly with me too. I had Bunco last night. It is really hard to concentrate on the dice when you are doped up on cold meds. On the other hand, I didn't eat that much and I didn't have any wine, so I guess there is a small upside!

Food:
7:10a - 8oz FF yogurt, apple
10:45a - granola bar
1:00p - 1/2 ham sandwich, apple
5:00p - 10 grape tomatoes, 1/2c mac & cheese w/ the kids
7:30 - 10p (Bunco night): small roll, slice ham, slice roast beef, 1/4c coos coos, 1/2c veggie salad, 1 hershey kiss, equivalent of a small handful of nuts (I would eat one or two each game.), small serving apple crisp
4 f/v

Water: +100 oz -- had 80 oz's before Bunco and drank water continuously all evening.

Exercise: 60 minute walk

Marie - :rotfl2: good point! Normally I drive right past the printer on the way home. Since we left from the beach, I took a different way home.

Jane - the beach days have been such a treat for all of us. :sunny: It is fun to be "required" to go to the beach on a school day. (This ISPE thing is pretty good thing! :teeth: )

Tracy - DD3 is much better, but now I have it :sad2: .

Amy - You're right, I will relish having time to myself again and I am sure I will fill up the time far too quickly too. Definitely exercise will be one of the planned activities. We really "stocked up" at Harry & Davids. Luckily, I think there is only one more small bag left. I am fine as long as the bag is sealed. Once it is open though ....

CJK - trail walks are wonderful too. You are going to have such a wonderful time in Florida in just a few short weeks :cheer2: .

I know the feeling. When my oldest started school and I went places alone it felt so strange. I always felt as if I forgot something. just hang in there and enjoy your free time.

*hugs* It's hard enough dealing with all of your emotions right now, but now you're not feeling well on top of it all. I know it's difficult, but it WILL get better.

Good job on the food and exercising! :cheer2: I should thank you for something! I was reading your journal and read about your FANTASTIC water drinking. I stopped right there and grabbed a bottle of water myself. Thank you! :sunny:

I hope you feel better quickly, and have a terrific weekend! :goodvibes

Sorry to hear you had such a rough "first day" of preschool! It will get better! :teeth:

Bummer about the cold, I hope it leaves you as quickly as it did DD! :wizard:

Way to go with the eating and control with the nuts! :worship: I think social situations will always be the hardest for me. I just lose my mind and think I can eat whatever I want! I am getting pretty nervous for my upcoming trips, especially the cruise. Send me some of your willpower!

HOpe you start feeling better soon! Just wait a couple of weeks and you'll begin enjoying the 'down' time during PreSchool.

Have fun on the beach - wish I could! We have the sand, just need some water!

You're supposed to feel at 'loose ends'! This is a new situation. Heck, I can remember going to the grocery store and feeling stupid when I realized I was TALKING TO MYSELF! I was so used to having a baby shop with me I started talking - it took me about 10 seconds to realize I was alone!

Great job on your eating and drinking last night! :thumbsup2

Thanks guys :grouphug: . I have felt lousy all day today. However, I took a catnap after DD10's soccer practice, and I am feeling a bit better. DD3 had her first dance class this morning. She loved it. I had to exchange pleasantries with other moms while feeling like my head was going to explode. On the good side, I did take a walk today while DD10 was at soccer practice. I had no energy, but at least moving sort of clears my head a bit. Also since I can't taste anything, I have no appetite.

Food:
7:15a - wholewheat toast w/ PB & J
nothing for snack or lunch - no appetite at all
2:45p - GoLean Bar - I bought these awhile ago and didn't like them (weird aftertaste) decided now would be a good time to eat one since I couldn't taste it. :rotfl2:
5:45p - 3 small slices pizza, 24oz milk (got my appetite back after my catnap!)
0 f/v
72oz water

60 minute walk w/ jogger stroller

Anna

CJK - I am glad I could help you with your water intake! :goodvibes

Amy - no real self control on the nuts or social eating. More "If I can't taste it, it's not worth eating it!" :rotfl2: You are going to do great on your trip and cruise. When you go off plan now, it is way healthier. And with your discipline, you will get right back on track after your vacations. :thumbsup2

Jane - :rotfl2: I catch myself automatically getting in the carpool onramp for the freeway. I am so used to having someone else in the car!

Julie, deelam: Thanks. I am sure I can find ways to fill that free time :rotfl2:

I hope you are feeling better today! I know what it is like to have to be social with others when you are not up to par. Hello, fake smile! :teeth:

You are doing great with your working out and water. I think you can officially claim to be back on track! :thumbsup2

Hope your feeling better fot the weekend!
Glad DD settled in well at school :)
I hope that 'lost' feeling doesnt last too long & that you will get to enjoy the time for yourself :)
Have a great weekend
Tracey xx

I hope you're feeling better today. AMAZING job on exercising even when you weren't feeling the greatest. Sometimes we need to push ourselves, and I'm glad to hear it helped you clear your head. Things are so busy for you right now!! Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
