Hi...dh and i are taking kids for first time to WDW (10,9,5..all boys)... this is what i have as a schedule for our daily activities...of course there is some room for switching around if need be due to weather....we are staying offsite at residence inn- lake buena vista and are staying oct 12 thru 21st..we will eat breakfast at restaurant (free) everyday and bring a packed lunch to the parks every day....will be getting a 5 day park hopper pass....here goes:
####1:....Tues (day of arrival)... arriving 2pm in orl airport and renting car... will go to hotel... would like to go to contemporary to have dinner at Chef Mickeys (have PS at 6:20).. after dinner i would like to take monorail to poly to see wishes from there and then the electrical water parade (i may not do this because of my dh(crabby and unadventurous) and the fact that maybe we should get back to hotel to rest for tomorrow)####2:... Wed... Magic Kingdom all day( i picked this because i do not want to go on an early entry day or a day of the MNNSHP when the park closes early)....####3:... Thurs...EPCOT all day, PS at 2:20pm at Le Cellier in Canada using VKL's.....####4:...Fri.. Typhoon Lagoon all day... go back to hotel, cook dinner in room, then i would like to hop over to MK at night to see spectromagic parade....####5:... Sat... plan to rest and hang out at hotel.. do some non-park stuff (any suggestions for mellow relaxing stuff??)... that night PS at Rainforest Cafe using VKL's....####6:...sun...another day of doing whatever...i like to stay away from the crowds on the weekends...although i wonder if i should go to paradise island during the day since it is on our park hopper pass.. what is there to do for a family there?... then off to MNNSHP that night!! have 5:20 PS for Crystal Palace character dinner before the halloween party (i'm thinking to leave the day low key so kids can stay up late!!)...####7: Animal Kingdom all day... Q & C for flame tree or tusker house ...####8:...do MK and/ or EPCOT again so see stuff we missed or want to do again....####9:.. MGM all day...Fantasmic Package at Mama melrose 4:20pm..####10: thurs...go home 2pm flight (i would have loved for kids to do pirates treasure hunt, but dont think we would have enuf time to go this morning and i think its the only day it would be possible)...........soooooooooooo , how does that all sound.. i just hope the weather holds especially for the MNSSHP, because it is prepaid rain or shine and Fantasmic because it is confirmed with credit card with a 48 hour cancellation....also, do you think that kids can take a whole day of these parks from morning to night... i want to take advantage and see everything and feel if we leave to go back to hotel at middle of day, it would waste too much time or do you thing we should start our day a little later in the morning, like 11:00am, rather that get there right when it opens, especially the later closing parks(MK/EPCOT/MGM) ... we are bringing a stroller for 5 year old.... anyway, i'm real excited and cant wait!!!!!!! :Pinkbounc :wave2::hyper::wave: :yo-yo:

On Day #5 you can hang out DTD and see the sites. It's not hard work like a park and you can do a little window shopping or souvenier shopping.

On Day #6 I don't think you want to go to "Paradise Island" because that's a reality show where you send your mate off to date other people and you do the same! LOL! :p If you meant, "Pleasure Island" then that's another story! I can't remember, (QUESTION TO MY FELLOW DISERS) is Pleasure Island still open to everyone? I heard that they weren't charging anything to get into the Island at the moment so that means that children can walk through with their parents, but I don't know how that's going to work in October.

You know your 5 year old better than most, but I do know that your 9 and 10 year olds can tough it out in the parks from day to night. What time do your children go to bed? Remember, they may get tired quicker from all the walking and excitement. :)

oooppppssss!!!! didnt mean to mistake paradise for pleasure!!! not into the spouse swapping thing.... sorry about that :o ................anyway... thanks amirah95 for your advice... what is downtown disney? is it where you can buy less expensive disney stuff or do you have to go elsewhere for that.... thanks :wave2:

DTD is owned by Disney so the souveniers cost the same as in the parks so you won't be saving any money here. Click on this link: http://www.allearsnet.com/btp/downtown.htm it will tell you all about DTD and it's a great website to do more research for your vacation.

As far as getting discounted Disney souveniers, you'll have to go offsite to catch some bargains. I don't know how you feel about that, but it's an option.

Itineraries are great but the hardest thing to predict is how you feel at any given moment. I often found at Disney that I started with some notion of what I would be doing, only to have it change and this seemed to work out really well.
