My iPod won't turn off

I have a first generation 2GB iPod Nano. I can't get it to turn off. I put it on my iHome every night. I put the song I want, then turn it off, while docked. Last night, it wouldn't turn off. I put it on the iHome, took it off, either way, wouldn't turn off. I tried resetting it, wouldn't do anything. So, I put it back on the iHome, hoping it would turn off itself. It didn't. Eventually this morning, it did turn off. So, I turned it back on to try it again, and it won't turn off or reset. It's fully charged, so I'm gonna let it die, then see what happens. Anyone know what I should do or what's wrong with it? TIA!!!

If you go onto the iPod site, I think they tell you how to reboot it.

Press the center button and the menu at the same time. It should reset it. You won't lose anything it will just restart it and then you should be able to shut it off.
