... he didn't want to wear any of his father's shirts because they were "All Mickeyed Up!"

So what if we buy a lot of clothes from WDW! So what if Gene's golf shirts have little Mickeys on them!

I told the ungrateful little monster that if he didn't like Mickey we could always leave him home next March!!!! :teeth:

Tell him Mickey or nothing. Do what I do with mine offer to take them to goodwill. That always brings on a change in tude:D

I just don't know where we went wrong. :( ;) :teeth:

He's at that age where it's more important to look cool than to have fun. I hope he grows out of it soon. :)

Tell him it's time to get a job and buy his own clothes if he doesn't want the hand-me-downs.

How old is he Laura???

He's 16 and that's a really tough time for boys' self esteem.

My hope is that some day he'll be truly cool like us and wear all Disney. :teeth:

My 12 yr DS wants to not go to WDW for a few years....so he agreed to let me take my oldest niece this year, the younger one next year...and my nephew the year after that :) YEAH we are both happy. That is, if my sister agrees

Hey, JohnTBap, I teach at a military school! Believe me, it sounds like he'd have lots of like-minded company, though!

I can understand that.he'll come back to it when he is older.Mickey just ain't cool on a 16 year old guy trying to impress the ladies.:smooth:

No, Mickey isn't cool with the teens. Even my 9 year old won't wear him except on boxers. LOL! And he doesn't want to go to WDW any more. Only Universal.

My girls won't wear Mickey things anymore either...every tme we are shopping and I see T-shirts or sweatshirts I'll ask if they want them...all I hear is NO! BUT they are very mad that I'm going to DW without them for DISCON. Sorry, but if you can't wear the Mouse, you can't go to the Mouse House!!!

LOL! Luke refused to wear clothes that were "Mickeyed Up" when he was about 5.

Fortunately, his little brother still likes Disney clothing, particularly Tigger. :)

My DS was frantically looking for a shirt to wear and said "I can't wear these, they're all Disney" Clothes basket had clean ones from our trip which he was okay wearing while down there. Guess it's pretty typical for the age !

16 is a rough age Laura. . . maybe a few non-Mickey shirts would be cheaper then Military school. . . LOL!! ;)
