My ideal DVC resort would include ...

More offsite locations. (NY, Winterpark, Palm Springs, DC, Chicago)
Stereo systems in every unit that are prewired to all rooms. (How much more could this really cost?)
Bigger pool areas (nothing worse than going to the pool and not being able to get a chair because every single one has a towel on it even though no one is using them)
AND POOL BARS THAT STAY OPEN PAST 7PM (BWV summer 2003)

If they offered monorail service to the VWL I would say "No thanks give it to the BWV folks (or to whomever wanted it)."

Wouldn't want the "noise" of the monorail to disturb the peace and quiet of the majestic WL. Everything is quiet at the lodge, especially the Whispering Canyon.

That being said my ideal resort would have;
King bed in the Studio
DVD player in the studio
Washer/dryer in the studio.

Sounds like a one bedroom to me, maybe I need to convince DH into buying more points!!!!

Hmmm...I think I would really like a "European" feel to a resort. Like Venice built on the canals, or a hotel designed to look like streets in small town France, or the Netherlands. Las Vegas has done a really nice job with some of these themes....surely Disney could do better. Too bad there isn't more room around EPCOT...they could have a "World Showcase" DVC (with a monorail, of course ;) )!!!

Or, they could have a "Cinderella's Village" themed resort (with a DVC wing) RIGHT near the MK!!! They could "incorporate" the French European feel of the original Cinderella tale, and make the "small French streets" feeling to the resort....it could be SOOO cool!!!

Yep. A DVC resort within walking distance. It'll be a great location. My opinion is that it's true.

Great thoughts. I'm surprised about the Chicago. Washington certainly makes sense with all there is to see there. So do the ski resort suggestions.

a bar IN the pool - tee hee  - with palm trees all around it.
a door between the master bedroom and the jacquzzi room in the one bedrooms.
a lock on the jacquzzi side of the bathroom door.
large screen tvs in living room and bedroom with dvds in both.
better sofa beds at the BWV
free breakfasts

My ideal resort would have tar and feathers to be applied by the owners to the locals caught pool crashing. And World Peace.

oohh, that sounds nice, Beca, they should hire you at Imagineering!::yes::

TIVO in the rooms! There always seems to be a big finale of one of my shows during every trip. Not that I'd sit and watch TV during my whole vacation, but it would be nice to catch up once I'm in for the night. I always think it would be a cool partnership between Tivo and WDW, once people use it once, they'd have to have it at home!

Outstanding post. Well done.

I agree with the w/d in the studio. Have all the kitchenette amenities on one side of the kitchenette area and a stackable W/D unit on the other side. Still not a 1BR because you wouldn't have the whole livingroom area and full kitchen.

I think a free breakfast would be nice. I like the tivo idea, I LOVE tivo. I also like the monorail to every park and the pool bar idea. I also think it would be nice to be able to get 2 queens in the MB if you wanted, for girlfriend trips :D .

We alternate trips between OKW and BWV, 1 bedrooms. I've always said my ideal place would be OKW size rooms at BWV's location. Since I travel with either my mom or my friends, I'd like the option of 2 queens in the master (just a few rooms, but with a guaranteed reservation).

Can we extend the tar and feathers to members/guests who don't behave in a "Disney-like" manner? e.g. smoking in non-smoking areas, cutting in line, rude behavior, trashing rooms, furnishings, etc.

Well, that perk wouldn't work very well for me! Then I'd feel obliged to be paying for daily maid service! :p

Joe...I'd be happy if they just kept the pool crashers out. Tar and feather would be too much!

After all, that boiling tar stinks!

And please don't send the monorail over to VWL. It's hard enough to keep the place secret as it is! :p

Well, if we gather these people up, put a big carrot on their nose and dress them in evil queen outfits (on sale at Disney Direct), we can have them burned. Anyone who happens to have once been a newt, please let us know so we can have eyewitness testimony.

I chose tar and feathers simply because there's little else I can think of that is practical and possible for the resorts right now. My second choice is a beer meister, but that would just get messy since they'd probably just put a mass produced beer in the keg and I'd still wind up buying something more brew-pubish.

*TiVo
*Garranteed smoking and nonsmoking rooms at time of booking
*Disneyland DVC
*Monorail DVC
*1 bedroom with 2 queen option (more points than a 1 bedroom, less than a 2)
*Villas with larger living rooms.... IMO you could rob a foot or two from the bedrooms to create larger living rooms....

I love Beca's idea... I picture small streets, quaint shops, and a lovely stroll down the lane into one of the parks.....
