I know that sounds bad but, he is going to see his daughter and grandkids, and during that time he will go to his sisters how she is 15 minutes away.. now what time should he return to the airport tomorrow i told him an hour before he says he doesnt need to... cause it is a layover and he already check in, in tampa what do you think..

I always say get to the airport at least 1 hr ahead of time b/c otherwise you'll be sorry. You may be bored, but at least you won't be sorry.....

have him ask the counter when he gets there. I've never had a layover, so I'm not really sure how it works. He would have to go through security again and that could be awhile.

I would say an hour as well. They usually start pre-boarding about 40 minutes before flight time AND since it is the holiday season, airports are busy which means longer lines in security. He doesn't know if he will be selected for "extra" screening, so better safe then sorry.

Yeah, he needs an hour in case there's a delay getting through security. Detroit is a HUGE airport.
