He went to the ED and he is fine just banged up. I was sitting here in my chair because I'm recuperating from a hip replacement and I saw him go down past the window. What an awful feeling. I can't do anything fast and it seemed to take me forever to get to the door. DH was yelling do NOT call 911 DO NOT CALL 911. So I called my fil. That made dh angry, but I couldn't even go outside to help him. All we needed was for me to fall too. We are quite a couple right now. There's a lot of limping going on here.

you did the right thing calling someone....I have heard many awful stories of people falling like that...so good that he is OK

Oh my goodness! I am so glad he's ok! Everytime DH goes up the ladder I am a nervous wreck.

Oh my! I can only imagine your horror seeing him. I am glad that he is going to be all right.

 Oh my, well your DH is one lucky guy. Someone was watching out for him. To have fallen from your roof and not be in the hospital with many broken bones....lucky for sure.

Lorelei, you did the right thing! Thank God he is okay. Now how are you?

I've told my husband he is NEVER going to go on the roof again-too many awful stories.Pay someone to clean out the bloody gutters.

OMG!
I am so glad he is okay!!!

Truly, it could have been so much worse, deadly even.....(I work claims and people get KILLED, or paralyzed) he got VERY lucky indeed!

PLEASE hire a gutter cleaner, I paid $60 and it was worth every penny.....(have a 2 story colonial and THIS year I put my foot down, no more roof climbing for the dh!!)

BY the way, I hope you are feeling okay as well, geeze, you sure have enough to handle...........

Feel better soon.....to BOTH of you!!! :grouphug:

I'm truly happy that your husband was not seriously injured and I wish the two of you a speedy recovery. Now for the bad part. I keep having this image of you sitting in a chair and watching your husband hurtle past the window. And then having him yell at you to not call 911. It just seems like something out of National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation. I know I'm a bad person, but this image makes me laugh. Of course, if he was seriously injured, there would be no humor in it. Oh, if only you had videotaped it, you could have made money from it...is America's Funniest Home Videos still on?

I agree, you definitely did the right thing! What scary thing for you to witness! :faint: I'm glad that your DH is ok! *HUGS* to you, too, for your hip replacement recovery! :grouphug:

Wow! I'm soooo glad you're BOTH ok! (Him for experiencing it, you for witnessing that.) :scared1: Your guardian angels are workin'! ;)

Hope hubby isn't too sore the next few days. :)

Oh my! I am glad that he is ok. He is very lucky. I have a friend who has been at Childrens hospital for two days now with her 15 month old son who fell from her loft onto the hard wood floor. He has a fractured skull and a tiny bleed on the brain, but the bleed has not stopped. He had angles with him that day and it sounds like your DH did too.

 to both of you to get better soon. :goodvibes

OMGosh... Im so glad he is ok. Like pp have said, it could have been worse. You did the right thing in calling someone :thumbsup2
Hope he isn't too sore in the next few days. Huge hugs to both of you and hope for speedy recoveries. Take care:hug::hug:

How frightening, I can't imagine how scary that was for you (and him). :guilty:
Sending hugs and prayers for a speedy and complete recovery to you both and that the New Year hold good things in store! :goodvibes

Thanks everyone! He's pretty sore- he already has a bad back so this certainly didn't help. I was pretty surprised they didn't do any xrays in the ED. They gave him a rx for a muscle relaxant.:confused3 He wandered from bed to the floor, to the couch all night.

I laughed at the National Lampoon reference. I can totally see that. :happytv:

My cousins dh fell off their roof years ago and broke his back in 2 places. This could have been really bad. He was knocking the ice off the edge of the roof, he had a hatchet in his hand when he fell. :scared1:

OMG - I'm glad he's ok. Every year I cringe when my DH goes on the roof to put up and take down the decorations.

That must have been terrifying for both of you. I'm glad he's ok.

My dad fell down our steps on Christmas Eve morning. I didn't get to bed until 2:30 the night before and so I was still asleep at 8:30 the next morning when I awoke to my mom screaming "Should I call 911?!" Scared me to death.

I spent the next four hours in the emergency room with my dad. He ended up being ok - just a huge hematoma (sp?) because he's on Coumadin. The nurse there said we should have called for an ambulance, though.

I hope nothing like that ever happens to you again, but sometimes the person hurt will not want an ambulance when really they need one.

I hope your new year is better!

:scared1: Loreli!!! Yikes.

Glad to hear he is okay. He should not be doing the roof. He is electrician, if I recall? That is enough.

Hope you are mending well too, Loreli. The kids both well?

Happy New Year to you all.

Dan
