My huge bargain

I got a huge bargain this morning and I'm still:banana: about it. I'm a competitive swimmer (gee, could you guess, hee-hee). I practice 4 days a week in the water so I go through swim suits a lot and some can be expensive. Today I went to Marshalls and they had Nike and Speedo ones in the women's section for $15. Then a woman told me they had more, in my size, in the girls section. I went there to find the same suits for $10 each!! I bought 1 woman's suit for $15 and 5 girl's suits for $10 each. Grand total of $68 with tax for 5 suits. Normally 1 suit would have been $60. I'm set for about a year now with suits. Now if only I could get a bargain on my coaching..... Then again, he's an Olympian so I don't mind paying for that.

My sister helps them with their advertising so in a way, shopping there helps her, too.

I have a swimmer too. You got a SUPERB deal! Suits are crazy expensive! The best I get jammers for is 20 bucks grab bag.

Oh! I teach swim lessons and rotate between 2 suits (one for morning classes one for evening classes) and both are showing their age. I might make a trip to Marshalls tonight!
Were these racing type suits?

2 of them were these

Three were these in blue and orange.

And the woman's is a Speedo reversible that is solid black on one side and grey with black cut outs on the other side. The tag said "last year" so I guess it was last year's model. All would be good for racing, I guess. I have competition suits that I got a deal on at Nationals a few weeks ago (2 TYR Aquapel kneeskins for $30 each - I came home with 4 medals and 6 personal best times with one of the Aquapels on)

Those will work! Thanks!

Good luck. I hope you find some great bargains, too. I have bought some in the past from TJ Maxx as well. I might have to go check mine out today just to see.

Thanks, I'll have to check it out. DD is a swimmer. Have you tried the Speedo Endurance suits? They last longer than the other ones, but are expensive, of course.

I have an older Speedo poly and I just don't like the poly. It traps air for me. I was actually planning on buying one of the newer poly ones when I found all of these. With proper care (getting them out of my bag soon after practice and no using the suit dryer at practice - that thing is horrible on suits), the 6 I bought will last me about 18 months for the price of 1 endurance suit. After these are gone, I'll try an endurance suit. I normally wear EQ suits. Her suits are awesome and she has great sales at times. I've had a lycra of hers (the owner is a swimmer) last me 2 years! http://www.eqswimwear.com/

Normally with EQ I buy her grab bags so I get what ever she sends me. With the new suits she is making from scraps (which I love the idea) it's the same thing. You get what they pick. I have never disliked a fabric she has sent me, though and I've been wearing her suits for over 6 years now. You can also design a suit yourself but it does cost a bit more. Ellen keeps the making of the suit in the US, which I love.
