I was wondering about freezing the tuna salad too. I didn't know you could do that.
I have never thought of freezing them. Good idea to have on hand for last minute lunch ideas. Did you freeze fillings other than PB&J, like tuna? I also like the press n seal idea. I usually use a wrap-n-mat but when at the parks press n seal seems like a good idea on those, thanks.
About the bread breaking - I have only had that happen a few times, with thicker, hearty breads. I rolled them out a bit and that seemed to fix it.
What do you do w/ all the crusts? I borrowed one from my neighbor and got stumped by that part. I was up to my elbows in crusts, and many pieces had PB or J on them, so you couldn't really dry them out for crumbs or croutons.

I thought about bread pudding or oddly-shaped french toast , but then it got too difficult. It's too hard for me to toss all that bread!
Cut the circle first, then put the pb & j in the middle, then seal. At least that's what I do.Dry the edges out, zip through the food processor and freeze the breadcrumbs for meatloaf, or save some in chunks for croutons.
Just to be clear ... the Dollar store carries the ones that make the half-moon shapes with one piece of bread. As with a lot of the cheap Chinese plastic crap that is sold there it is likely to break before school even starts. For about $12 on eBay (inc shipping) you can get a genuine Pampered Chef Cut-N-Seal that is made from metal and will work flawlessly for years. Thanks!!! I just bought some uncrustables yesterday from Walmart. $5.98 for a box of 10!!!!
I'm going to head up to the Dollar store this morning to see if they have one of those seal things.

We tried making the "uncrustables" with wheat bread but we found that "bunny bread" worked best! My daughter who hates wheat bread, loved this part!![]()
