I made my first DVC reservation yesterday. I linked the ressie to MDE--doesn't show. Try to re-link and get the message that it is linked. Go back into My Reservations--you have no reservations. How will I do 180 + 10 for dining when it is time when it can't link my reservation? What am I missing?

At this point in time, MDE is a gigantic pile of billion dollar GARBAGE!

No lie, this era of Disney is one that I would like to forget.

Nothing works the way is is supposed to, the App doesn't like to the website, the website doesn't link to the App. Disney's system isn't connecting well with either the website OR the app - and as a travel agent, I now have to CALL to be able to do things that I used to be able to do online.

The whole system is full of bugs, and does nothing NEAR to the level of what it is supposed to do.

I am so disappointed that Disney has spent over a billion dollar on this effort, and as of now....they don't have much to show for the expenditure!

I would rather have seen new attractions, new experiences, and updates in the parks for what the cost has been on this!

My advice, pretend MDE doesn't exist and call in to do everything - that way you'll know it is done - and Disney's billion dollar joke won't drive you crazy!

I totally agree! Anyway, I guess I will have to call in my ADR's but I like to use the website to get an hour jump on the popular ressies. :headache:

If you're doing your reservations at 180+ days you shouldn't have any problems at all.
We got Be Our Guest at less than 180 days - and at this point in time, nothing is more difficult than Be Our Guest!

You can't do 180+10 anyway. The new website doesn't allow it (I think it's a glitch, not necessarily a permanent thing). You have to call it in unfortunately. I just had to do this for my July reservation I was so mad  Luckily I didn't lose availabilty at any of the restaurants I wanted, but it's still a big pain.

The only way I can get my DVC reservations to shop up on DME is to manually put them in. Once I did that my NEW ADRs will show up, but all of my old one also had to be manually put in. I used the DME app during my January visit to WDW and it was hit or miss. A few days I could not get in at all, but did find that if I logged out and logged in, it would work better. Many times while at MK I couldn't get it to work at all. However, many times it did work great for making last minute ADRs while actually at the park. It could be a good thing. I did find the times to be acurate.

On top of all of the Disney cash website problems, DVC is an outsider who has to interface with with the main Disney sites for many of the features that DVC uses. Twice the problems. :sad2:

:earsboy: Bill

I agree Bill. Seems like DVC members shouldn't have to bend over backwards to have the website benefit us as well. Sometimes an hour in making ADR's can make a big difference for the popular restaurants and the times we want in.

I had a similar issue with MDE when I tried to link my upcoming BLT reservation. Turns out for me the problem was that the reservation was listed under the name of a person who was travelling with me in march who isn't even a DVC member. Apparently when Disney made the switch to the new system it reorganized the names in the party alphabetically.

Don't know if its any help but if you are travelling with someone with a different last name try to use that when you link the reservation.

I have since contacted MS and they corrected the problem but it was a frustrating experience.

When someone figures this out, please post how you did it... I'm not getting anywhere.

I would love to know if anyone has been able to link their ressie from DVC to MDE and then in turn been able to make ADR's at 180 + 10. And if so, how did you do it? TIA!:)

I haven't had to deal with the ADR issue because we our reservations WAY less than 180 days out but, I haven't had an issues at all linking my reservation to MDE. The ONLY issue I ran into, is that the names have to match EXACTLY as they are on your reservation with DVC and in the same order. IE on one of my DVC reservations they have Ms. instead of Miss. and it wouldn't sync until I changed my name to Ms. on MDE.

Also, it's much easier if your email on your DVC account matches the email on your MDE account.

I also created the DME using same username and password to keep it simple. Between Disney and ESPN and other affiliated sites it can really be a mess.

Once I created DME I had no problem linking DVC resv or dining. Of course I couldn't tell ya how I did it

Is MDE and DME the same thing ? I am assuming (ya, I know) that MDE is My Disney Experience while DME is Disney Magical Express, but now I am not too sure...I feel like the grandfather in the movie Moonstruck !!!

I have the same problems with My Disney Experience. I have a split stay coming up in a few weeks. It excepts one of the ressies, refuses the other. I have no idea why.

After several days it finally let me start online check in. However, it will not accept my credit card. Argh! So frustrating! Member services can't even help with it.

I called MS and they couldn't help me either. I am thinking of calling Disney reservations, but I am sure that won't get me anywhere. So very frustrating.

If it's a Disney Visa, for some strange reason you can add that during on-line check-in.

You are correct in that MDE is My Disney Experience [Disney's website where all reservations are to be maintained - allegedly] and DME is Disney Magical Express [bus transfer]. See, you aren't like the grandfather in Moonstruck at all. "That's Amore!" :thumbsup2

Disney actually uses MDX for My Disney Experience in the Park Experience Terms and Conditions. They only use this in one place. They then refer to it as Site/App.
