We bought SSR 4-5 years ago while at Disneyland. We really liked our Guide, but she has retired. They've assigned us a new Guide. I left a messge on her line last Tuesday, then called her cell # on Friday and left a mesage there. We are very interested in buying at the Grand Californian. I want to double-check on incentives. I'd also like a "heads-up" if the webcast next week will offer anything more.

Any suggestions? Just call DVC? Call her line again? Wait 'til after the 15th?

:) Could she possibly be on vacation...if so just talk with someone else.

I'd call DVC and just tell them that you have been unable to reach your guide and maybe you could find out if she's out of town or something, or they could give you someone else to talk to.

She was out of town the week before the Memorial Day holiday. I left a message on June 1st and then one on her cell on Friday, June 4th. I figure that even if she was swamped coming back from vacation, she should have called me back by now.

My Guide, **, never returned my calls either. I decided to buy resale contracts after his lack of proper customer service. It saved me about 50% and lost Disney 100%.

I was trying to call my guide last week then tried yesterday and her voicemail has changed and she is now out of the office on a leave of absence - so I would try again or call DVC.

My guide is located at Disneyland. I tried to reach her several days ago to check on my use year and the possibility of adding more points to VGC. She emailed me a few days ago to let me know that she is currently working in Hawaii for 3 weeks doing some training. If we share the same guide, then she will be back this weekend. It is possible that more than one guide was sent to do some training in Hawaii. And I think most of us can agree that their work there is a GOOD thing. :goodvibes

If you have trouble getting through to your Guide, you can call the DVC Preview Center at (800) 800-9100 and they can assist you.

:earsboy: Bill

Just call MS and explain the situation. If you want a new Guide at that time, you can also take care of that then too. Good luck with your add-on. :goodvibes

Too funny my guide is also at DL and I have tried several times to call, we are ready to purchase. Well I went to the DVC website and clicked on the link and new guide called and we are working with her now.

Found it funny it is $2 a month cheaper to buy VGC than Saratoga Springs at WDW when you combine the monthly pmt and maintenance fee. LOL and you get more years.

We are going with 2 100 pt contracts at VGC and I really want to add on when they open Hawaii. We get September as use year and all 2009 pts no fees. We get the pts for $95 a pt plus closing costs.

I am really worried that 200 will not be enough. LOL We like to spend at least a week when we go and would like to go twice a year, if we do that it will probably be 5 day trips then.

Does anyone know what the discount is for the annual passes for Disneyland with DVC?

$95 a point for VGC?

oooh. Add-on-itis is hard to resists. I'd love to add a small 50 point contract for there (since we mostly spend our vacations @WDW).

And of course, add-on-itis willl strike when Hawaii is finally selling.

Must Resist!

The anual pass discount for DL is a huge, whopping $20.00. Bought mine on 5/23/10, so unless it has changed since then, that is the fabulous deal.

Today is my first day as a new member and just getting used to the site....where does it say who my guide is...out of curiousity? TIA.

If that were me, I would ask for a new guide. I like to give people the benefit of the doubt, but if you are going to be making money off me, you better help me.

UPDATE: DH called and talked to someone else. We now have two 125 point contracts in the works! Now, we'll have to see if we can get anything for this summer!

As for who your guide is: that's the person you bought your original purchase of DVC through. We would (used to) get E-mails from this person.

When we made our first purchase in 2001 our guide was just wonderful...she wound up leaving DVC when her husband was relocated...our next guide didn't return phone calls etc....so since we live on LI when the sales center opened up there I was able to visit and get a new guide...Kim....she has been wonderful !!!

For what it is worth...I spoke with MS twice today. I was looking for four nights or ore in a studio or one bedroom. No luck with August, September or October. November had quite a bit available.

I love Disney and my DVC. However my experience with DVC guides nearly cost Disney my sale. I attempted a relatively large DVC purchase last year using cash. You would think DVC would be all over that. Ha! They seemed completely disinterested by not returning any of my phone calls or emails. Out of disgust I gave up and called MS to tell them I didn't want their timeshare and the reasons I was finished with them. They had the Director of Sales call me and apologize. She stated it was because of this... and that... I didn't get a call. I gave them one more chance so they gave me a new guide, Jonathon. He has been wonderful!!! He returns all calls and emails in a timely fashion.

The OP has posted a final resolution to this thread.

Please keep in mind we are not allowing referrals (Guides, etc.) here on the DIS. Thanks all! :)

A DVC guide is a licensed real estate professional...

You should expect the same level of service as you would expect from a real estate professional if you were purchasing a primary home.

I expect professionals who earn a commission to do their job and return calls promptly or they would loose my business!

Hope you have success at your DVC purchase!:thumbsup2:thumbsup2
