I am convinced of that now!!!!!!

I emailed him last week asking about an extension on my developer points.......he never replied.

I called and left message, no answer!!!

Called MS today to see if they could help - they transferred me to him directly! I told him I was P****D off with no response from him and checked to make sure he had actually got my emails. His answer.

Oh yeah - I got them!

He will look into it now and get back to me - but I won't hold my breath!

OMG - I can't believe him!!!!!

Rant over!

You can always request to be assigned to a new guide .... might not be a bad idea in your case. :goodvibes

How do I get a new guide? Who do I have to speak to????

thats an exciting thought!!!!!

We had the same problem last summer. Our guide was off when we went to see him. We left messages, he never called. Wanted to buy an AKV addon. He never returned ANY of our numerous phone calls.

Our first guide was worthless but our current guide, Karen Guyder is pretty good.

Your Guide is not your friend, he is a sales person. Why would he want to spend time with you if you aren't buying more points?

Sadly this is the way many Guides feel. Move on, call the DVC sales number, ask for a manager, and tell them why you want a new Guide and what you expect from a Guide. That's what we did.

Sorry to go OT, but you can get an extension on your developer points?

I was told that you could get an extension when I bought into DVC in December, but when I asked my guide to confirm this a couple of weeks ago, I was told that "management" had decided no more extensions. If you could get a recent confirmation on extensions, please let me know. I'd like to argue the issue. Now, developer points weren't the reason I bought into DVC, so I'm not overly concerned about it, and it looks like I can go down in October, so I'll use my remaining points one way or another, but I was told one thing only to find another.

The Guides are not allowed to reply to emails. Disney does not allow this as a method of contact for DVC Guides.

Perhaps he was out of the office? If it was only a week, certainly he could have been unavailable for various reasons. I am not sure about the policy on returning phone calls overseas to the U.K. either. I believe overseas visitors must conduct their sales business while they are visiting Orlando, if I am not mistaken.

Did you try calling Member Administration? That may have been a place to try for this type of issue. The Guides are sales people as mentioned above and though may offer assistance, it is not always the right place to turn for after the sale issues.

One other note here - we will not allow publishing of Guides names, initials or other identifying features for those who are disgruntled with their Guide. They cannot post here nor defend themselves and that would just not be in keeping with our spirit here at the DIS. Thank you...

I'd ask for a new guide immediately given the info as presented. I will add that one should not count on email with DVC guides as they are not supposed to respond by email though some do anyway.

If they are not allowed to respond to emails then why give out their email address - and he did eventually respond today. via EMAIL

I called MS who said that I needed to speak to my guide and transferred me to him!!!

Saying that buyers from UK are to conduct buisness matters when in Orlando is ridiculous, What am I suppossed to do - spend £400 on a flight to ask a question!!!!!;)

He has always been this way - even when our contract was being processed and we had questions he never called back or returned emails! I don't expect him to be my friend - but decent manners cost nothing!

And as much as I would LOVE to tell you his name - I am FULLY aware this is against forum rules!

AND FINALLY.......no extension granted on DP's! not even 1 week which is all we needed! I posted a new post stating what the response was..........

we always communicate with our guide via email. she always responds, if i send it first, within an hour. a few times she has sent me one first. so i guess it depends on the guide. we knew from the first time we met her, how awesome she was and still has been.:yay:

My guide e-mails me, but it's usually a form e-mail (that gets sent out from Disney to lots of people). He's never sent me a personally written e-mail, which I'm fine with since he always calls me back promptly.

We had large issues with our last guide, which I won't go into. All I did was to contact DVC, ask for a manager, and ask for a new guide. They assigned me a new guide and sent me four $15 disney gift cards to make things right (we were still at WDW at the time).

I'm so glad that we made that call, because even though our initial purchase ended up being resale, our guide was great and we added on. Every time I talk to the new guy I end up saying to my wife "I'm so glad we switched guides."

My first guide was like that too. He wait listed me for an add on and NEVER called me back. I eventually purchased on the resale market and saved bucco bucks. When I decided to buy BLT I called dvc sales and said I need a new guide. I got switched. So far so good.

I hated guide one. I wouldn't have bought BLT if I had to give him the credit!!!

Ask for a new guide.

Jacky
