My Guess on the Magic behind 4th FP+ algorithms

Keeping in mind that all the changes at DisneyWorld have the ultimate goal of increasing guest spending, I'm guessing that the algorithms allocating the 4th FP+ (and 5th, 6th....) are quite sophisticated. A guest staying in a suite at the Grand Floridian or someone who dropped a couple grand in a gift shop might more likely see some fantastic options for the next set of fast passes. This would keep the high rollers happy and coming back.

We will find out soon.

How? Do you think it will be advertised as a perk soon or something?

It won't take long for the DIS community to figure this out. Daily reports will shed light on this if it is happening.

But it seems counterproductive to me to give perks to people and then not tell them they are getting perks.

Really don't think so. - at least not now (conspiracy theory for the future, maybe). We were in MK yesterday and from 3pm on we were getting additional fastpasses one right after the other. It was a wet, not too crowded day and almost every attraction showed up with current time or later in the day options. It doesn't just show you a few things. You get everything.

Last night tons of things were showing up. We wanted Peter Pan because my teens had a 9pm FP that they snagged at around 7:30cand we decided to try to join them. But by 8 all Peter Pan was gone for the day. Cast member refreshed the screen a number if times because he said sometimes something will show back up. My theory on that is that either someone else switches to a different FP, freeing one up, people with FP don't show up or the standby line is shorter than expected for that attraction at that time of day so they have more capacity.

Anyway, almost every ride drops you into a shop so plenty of time to get your money!!

THIS! If Disney was rewarding high rollers, it would behoove them to tell guests. If the plan is to give people better FP+ options if they spend X amount of dollars in the parks, I'm much more likely to buy that Dooney and Bourke purse I was eying, or max out on limited edition pins, because I'll feel I'm getting an even better "value".

I can see the CM saying something like "spend only $10 and you'll be eligible for an extra tier one FP" when you are checking out, and most people will be looking around for something to add on.

We see it all the time with the "purchase with purchase" offerings, a prime FP is a much better incentive than a tote bag.
