I had such a wonderful time. I really enjoyed the 4 day pin event, even though on the 3rd day I said 2 would have been enough. I was sooooooo tired. I have to say this was one of my best trader trips, I got so much, for sometimes a steal. I did offer more, but the people who made the trades wouldn't take more.
I arrived on Tuesday and picked up the car and drive right to WDW. Went on a few rides and saw a few shows because I knew that it might be my only chance during the entire trip.
I picked up Leslie and Cynthia on Wed, and we went straight to the first meet at Boardwalk.
I think this was my best trading day. We wound up inside the store on the floor trading because the rain was just too strong outside.
I traded AP Lanyard and Pin, and MK event dangle for.................. Poolside Mickey
Cinderella's coach and Tink event dangle for..................Poolside Mickey
I made lots of little trades too, but these were my best for that day.
FIrst day of the event went great. At the Bfst there were 3 male suits and 1 female (would it be suit or dress?). The young one, named MIKE saw my father's day pin and admired it. His baby is 6 months old and he had to work that day. He tried to get one after work but they were gone. So I took my pin off the lanyard and told him to put it in his pocket. He asked if I was sure because I would be giving him an LE and I said yes. He said "then you deserve something too because this is what pin trading is all about" I was given the Continuing the Traditions pin. YEAH!!!!
Boy did I brag, but not too much, I wouldn't want to make anyone who went to the Adventurer's club feel that they were "not worthy". But they did bow all night...
Friday I traded away one of my Poolside Mickey's for Surfer Mickey and Cast Retreat Mickey
I did many more trades, too many to bore you all about.
Monday I took Cynthia to the airport. We had some problems in our room at the Marriot so I asked the front desk if they could fix it while I was gone. Well they did fix it. But they forgot to take the latch off the door and left my door wide open all day. I came in at about 9 and saw my suitcases had been gone through. They must have been looking for money but the event was over, I didn't have any more. And from what they took, they certainly didn't know pins.
I looked through all my stuff and the only things I can see that were taken were the map set with all the pins and the 100 years #8, the watch. I will do a more thorough inventory now that I am home.
My flight home was memorable too. I offered to be bumped and they took me up on it. Just as they were taxiing out they saw an empty seat. They made me get on. I almost had a free ticket.
But all together I had a great time. Wish I could do it again, and more of you could come, it was so great meeting all of you.
