My grandmother passed away on Wed. Of stage 4 metastatic breast cancer. She fought it for 25 years of her life. My grandmother is my mentor, my hero, and the person I have learned the most from in my 26 years of life. She taught me to read, to be strong, advocate for my health, and most of all predicted from the time I was just a baby that I would be a great teacher one day. ( I will be receiving my credential and Master's degree in December in Special Education). I was her caregiver and her friend. I have feelings of grief from the loss, and also extreme joy in knowing that she is no longer suffering from this terrible disease and is with her family and friends in heaven. I miss you....I love you ...rest in peace 'Moo'. :(

I am so sorry....
My grandmother was my hero, so I know what a loss it is..
Sending you giant healing hugs :grouphug:

Dwell on the great memories you have. And think of all the things she taught you and that you can now pass on to your students and someday to your own children. As you share what she has taught you, she will be looking down upon you with a great big smile.

Sending you and your family lots of prayers and positive thoughts during this difficult time :grouphug:

My grandfather passed away from stage 4 bone cancer on November 8th - six days before we were to leave for Disney. I buried my grandfather 48 hours before leaving for Disney. So many mixed emotions. My Disney trip was a great distraction but now that I am home, I am now dealing with the post vacation blues and realizing the loss of my grandfather. More mixed emotions.

My grandfather had prostate cancer about 15 years ago that resurfaced this year as bone cancer. He declined treatment and died about 4 months after his official diagnosis, though they had suspected he had been dealing with it for about a year unknowingly. His doctors told him in October they expected him to make it through the first part of 2014, so it was a surprise he died so soon. Near the end, he was no longer lucid, had to wear diapers, and was very gaunt. It was awful to see. We are taking solace in the fact he is no longer suffering from such a painful cancer, and that he is reunited with my grandmother who died of breast cancer back in 2004.

Losing grandparents is a difficult thing, especially when we are close to them. Know she is always with you and listening, so don't be afraid to speak to her like you always would have :grouphug:
