Thank you! I think I will spend a week at Disney. Maybe in August? ;) The debt has been one of the worst parts of the whole thing. My med school loans are enough to buy a house (in some parts of the country but sadly not in suburban NYC).

Wow that is LOT of school!!! Congrats! Are you at Westchester Medical? I am close to you.

I live near Westchester Medical but I work in the Bronx. One of the many nice things about my job is that I work at a big academic center within an inner city. We have a very diverse patient population which is great. There's nothing better than helping people who really need it! I know the pediatric urologists at Westchester and they are very good.

Congratulations! That is amazing!! :thumbsup2

That is great that you have a diverse group of patients. It must be interesting. Yes, Westchester Medical is a great hospital with really good doctors. My son was treated for Leukemia there (successfully) 12 years ago.

Congratulations, and thank you for helping all those kids. I get inspired by all the specialists at our local Childrens Hospital.

Thank you all! You make me feel even better about what I do. I've been very blessed to be able to do what I do and (most days) I feel very lucky!

Amanda

Wow, I'm impressed you were able to do all that and juggle a family, too!
Congrats on finally making it to your goal!

WOW! How did you do it? Especially with small children :) Some days I cant even get dinner on the table on time! Such a great accomplishment...good luck to you:goodvibes

Thank you!!! I have help. We do a combination of daycare/preschool + nanny. We pay a small fortune in childcare expenses. My job also has some flexibility. Mondays are "academic days" - resident teaching, research, paperwork. I take advantage of that and use Mondays to schedule doctor appointments, etc. My nurse practitioner is very aggressive about making sure I don't miss any important activities (1st day of school, school events, etc.). I need to plan ahead because we schedule ORs 6-8 weeks out and that's hard to cancel. We also spend many a weekend running from kid activity to kid activity so we can participate! :lmao:
I won't lie and say it's been an easy path but things are getting easy, especially as my kids get a little older. I think I'm a pretty involved mom and my kids think my job is very cool. My 4 year old says that when she grows up she wants to be a mommy doctor, work in the OR, wear pink doctor clothes (scrubs - mine are green), and drive a pink BMW with no roof! :rotfl2:

Wow!!!!:cheer2: I can only imagine the dedication and hard work it has taken to get to this point. Congratulations and wishes for much continued success!!!!!:yay::yay::yay:

Wow, that is wonderful. I am sure you feel like a load has been lifted. I am sure you and your family will enjoy the "world" now that the "tests" are over. :goodvibes Take care and have fun. We are going to be there 8/23 to 8/30. If I see a Dr. Mom grinning from ear to ear, I will say hi. :thumbsup2

I'll be the small one (5'2") with the tall DH (6'4") and 3 noisy kids. You'll find us every afternoon at SAB having a blast!

Congrats....:thumbsup2 for passing and all your hard work.

I remember when I was younger and my mom went back to nursing school and a few nights a week and my dad would have to cook supper. But he only knew how to cook ravolis :lmao:

Enjoy your trip in Disney....you definately earned it.:goodvibes

Congrats!!

Some say, "Marry money," but my brother says, "Bad business marrying money." ;)
