We got to the castle just as they were dropping the rope. We saw a girl and mom running over to Tinkerbells Treasures and I knew they were heading in to ask to wake up Tinkerbell... but we wanted to watch anyway. The girls walked up the same time and the mom said "we heard someone one needs to be woken up" and the CM let my girls and the other little girl wake her up. All three of them wore tiaras and wands and had to tap on tinkerbells box and woke her up... was so sweet. It's neat to see her "flying" all over the store. The girls all tooks pics and got magical moment certificates. Made my girls day!

I was surprised, as we were there at least 4 familys asked to wake up Tink and another family was rushing in as we left hoping to be able to... i'm surprised so many people know about this.

That is SO Cool!

We're going to try to get our girls there in time to do that too, but alot of folks do seem to know about it. Between that and the slow moving of my girls legs most of the time :rotfl: I'm not counting on it!!

Congratulations to you!

Okay, where exactly is this? I've heard about Tinkerbell being woken up, but have no idea where to head once I'm inside the park. Please be specific! Thanks.

Awwww! :goodvibes Good for you!

Tink sleeps in a treasure box inside of Tinkerbell's Treasures, a gift shop located right behind the castle in Fantasyland. Once she's awake, she "flies" around the store the rest of the day. Someone recently posted a really cute pic of Tink still in the box, seen through the keyhole! I asked about the box the other day and it was behind the counter with the CMs, so I didn't get to look through the keyhole to see if Tink was still in there. ;) Very cute pic though.

What fun!!

My girls got to wake Tink during our 2003 trip.

Something else to try is to decorate the Christmas tree at Ye Olde Christmas Shoppe. A park guest gets to decorate a small tree in the store with Disney ornaments and the guest's name is displayed with the tree all day.

There's so much magic off-the-beaten-path to be had at WDW!:wizard:

One day we will get there early enough to do this stuff LOL

Sounds like you had an awesome day!

I thought she could be seen in the dresser drawer - looking through the keyhole, not in a box. It's by the entry door nearest the cash register. We've seen her there twice.

My granddaughters (3 & 4 years old) saw Tinkerbell in the dresser -- they were so excited. They had to go & get Grandpa so he could see & sure enough she was still inside. When leaving the 3 yr. old told Grandpa "That was amazing" !!! :)

thats just soo cool love to be able to do it but only have D sons and theyd rather ride with buzz :sunny:

They've changed it. When we were there in early October, I went straight to the dresser to peek in, and she wasn't there. The CMs told me she now flies around the room.

My girls would love to do this, but it would be hard if we ran all the way there and were not the first to get there! They would be so dissapointed. Is it done right after the parks open?
I'm so glad your DDs were able to join you on this trip. I thought you had said on another thread that you were only able to take your 16 mos. old son? I would have such a hard time taking only one child. DH and I can't even bring ourselves to go to WDW alone w/o the kids. Maybe someday.

That's why I love the DIS. I've learned so much in my short time here. Had no idea about waking up Tinkerbelle. I'm sure we won't get there early enough, but now I know about it anyway. And thanks for the post about the decorating the tree too, we might try that.

I got lonely.... can you believe that? Since my girls didn't have school on Thursday and Friday, my husband drove them up and spent the 2nd night with us. They were estatic, my husband didn't tell them where they were going, he picked them up from school and started driving telling them they were meeting mommy for dinner (they didn't know where i was)

Anyway, I have pics of them waking her up... gotta upload them. She was in a chest on the left side above the register...

Here ya go... here is the pic

Here are the 3 girls (my girls are in the striped shirts) tapping on the box to wake her up:

Could you let me know what that means? I have heard that but have never seen the "Awakening of Tink" and would love some more detailed information -- thanks! And, by the way, your daughters are just too cute! :flower:
