My gift card and braces update...ok nightmare!

Well as some of you know I purchased 6 gift cards on October 26. It was interesting because it was free shipping....here is my advice....
DO NOT....I REPEAT DO NOT PURCHASE GIFT CARDS FROM DISNEYSHOPPING.COM

But...I knew this was not over yet!
I received confirmation they were shipped, they charged my cc 400 dollars and I was told to expect therm in ten days. I started to wonder where they were today so I emailed them.
I promptly received an email stating they were never shipped.
After a long conversation on the phone and a profuse apology from Disneyshopping.com I was told they cannot ship internationally and my only option was for a refund. These were suppose to be from HOHO for the kids for Christmas.
Man o man that was sure disappointing...but it gets better.

Last week I mentioned my kid needs braces. Well I no sooner hung up the phone with Disney then the phone rang again from the orthodontist. They had ds treatment plan ready and did I have a moment to discuss it. Well to make a long story short it is a 4 year treatment plan that is going to cost 6400.00 dollars and in 2-3 weeks..yup right before Christmas and when our trip payment is due we have to make the initial first payment of 1840.00 to get the braces on.

This is where you see me the dw drinking copious amounts of Frangelico thinking did I run over a black cat or something?

I have braces on, and the first payment I had to made on 6000$ was 500$ not almost 2000$ like you...... And after that I gave checks for 3 years in advance of 150$/month.

Maybe you should try an other orthodontist....

We have an established relationship with this orthodontist and really like him. It would mean new referalls and a complete new set of tests, xrays and molds at another 325 dollars and an additional wait. Shopping around for a better deal is a waste of my time and money. We dont have a problem paying the 1840, It just had to come at a crummy time that's all. We have to pay 200 a month until our insurance portion is exhausted and then we are allowed to lump sum payment after that. That is the only annoying thing is having to make payments when we would rather throw a chunk on it. I hate payments of any kind so the sooner I kick this one to the curb the better. Its a new morning and after talking to dh we have worked out the budget and made way for the new braces....I wasn't complaining just venting a very frustrating day

That stinks. You'd think that the order wouldn't have gone "through" in the first place! Aren't there any workarounds for Canadians, are maybe the actual WDW gift cards available to international folks instead?

PS - Naw, you didn't run over a black cat. If you *had*, you wouldn't have found out this little nugget of news until right before the holidays.
