my friend said don't cruise with disney

I know you've had lots of replies but I thought I'd add my 2 cents.
With or without kids Disney has some of the best customer service around. I've done Disney 2x with my 21yo dtr and 8yo son. My daughter and I did an "adult" vacation the beginning of this summer and went on the Grand Princess. We were very disappointed!!! The rooms weren't as clean, the food not as good, the employees not as attentive, the private island-beach wasn't anything like Castaway Cay--they sand was very rocky and you couldn't go into the water without shoes on. Even the shows weren't as professional, although they were more adult. About the only thing another cruise has that Disney doesn't is a casino, if that's important to you. I don't think you'd be disappointed in Disnay at all. My 21yo said she'd rather go Disney again. Just my opinion!

My daughter went with a girlfriend and April and it is definitely not a cruise to meet members of the opposite sex, like some of the other cruise lines. Maybe that's what your friend was referring to? Otherwise, my daughter loved it so much she's talked me into a cruise on the Wonder in less than a month!

Oct or Nov - doesn't seem to matter
FOUR DAY Absolutely!!!!

I've been on two DCL cruises without any kids. I'm not sure I'm looking forward to the seven "kids" that will be with our group on the next one LOL!! Of course, some of those kids are in their 20's and 40's ;) ! There won't be nearly as much time for relaxing, that's for sure!

I'm doing the research for my mom and her female friend for next year and I'm starting to think DCL is the way to go

Like most vacations, especially with other couples, you really have to determine HOW you want to be spending your time. Personally, I like to relax on vacation. I don't need constant stimulation like ice skating rinks or rock climbing on a cruise - I'd rather enjoy the ocean! That's not to say there wasn't lots to do on DCL - but the pace is relaxed and you feel like you have a choice, not like you have to experience everything in just a few days. I went with my mom & both of us were impressed with the service, environment, talent - ok, with everything! It's just a deluxe experience that I don't think you'll find with most other big lines.

If you can, try to go for Halloween. They have an awesome costume party for adults and the kids get to go trick-or-treating, which is a hoot to watch. And the spa is not to be missed!

I have only cruised Disney, 3x with #4 in 19 days, because we take our grandkids. But really they are just a cover, I Love Disney. If I were given a weeks cruise on any liner of my choice it would be Disney. This said I have just booked a cruise out of Baltimore for next June 04 on the new Carnival ship, Mirage (I think) for just the 2 of us, the price sucked me in. Everytime I rave to someone about Disney I have to say, "Of course I have never cruised any other." So after next June I can put that to rest and compare the ships.

Hi, We are going on our first Disney cruise in May, 04 and it is just the two of us. Both adults when we have to be. ONe of the reasons I picked going on this cruise was naturally because of our love for Disney, but because my kids are adults and I do miss watching the magic through the little ones eyes. I think there are enough adult getaways on board to relax, but am truly looking forward to watching the kids with the sparkle in their eyes enjoying all there is to enjoy on the DCL! You don't know what it's like till you try it! I found that out on Tower of TerroR last year and I wasn't very adult on it!!! I wanted my mommy!!
