My Friend Received DVC Info with an Offer

Well my parents bought well we were in Disney last week and now my friend is considering. (Too bad Michigan doens't have a referral bonus) Anyway, my friend called and asked for information and she received in the mail an offer for a discounted hotel rate at AKL of $129 night if she would listen to a 90 minute DVC presentation. She didn't want AKL and asked about BC, they told her that would be $179 night. She just has a baby so she booked to go the latest time possible which was Oct. Its not a free night stay but you don't have to buy anything to get this offer so its not too bad.

BC at $179 per night is a great price! We stayed there last year for $169 but I don't think there have been any discounts that good this year.

Terry, I agree that Michigan is a bummer for referrals. I have gotten two people to join, with nothing to show for it. Thank goodness my daughter moved to Chicago, now all my referrals go thru her, so we share any benefits that way. Ship one of your kids out-of-state, and you might see something for all those referrals! By the way, I just got AKL for $127 annual passholder rate for July.

We received the same postcard in the mail, addressed to my wife (who's name is on the deed, by the way - don't know why we got it). The offer was for $129/night in AKL standard, but if you stay 3 nights, you get a 4th night FREE. Had to book by some date in May. There was an ID code on the postcard.

My parents, who are not DVC ers will be at disney the same time we are there at BCV. How would I get them a promotinal rate like you all are talking about ? And who would I contact to set it up for them to here the schpiel?

She had called DVC and asked for some information, so I don't know if that is why she received it or not. She has been to WDW a few times as well so the may have just done some mailing list from prior guests.

Some friends of ours from New York also got this postcard and are staying in the AKL for Mickey's Halloween party. They don't know how they got on the 'list' as they have never talked to a rep about it. They are also doing the '4th night free' deal. Too good to pass up. We talked on and on about how DVC was cool when we were with them last, so this is a positive thing that they are going to check it out.

It doesn't hurt that we would get the referral either.
