I guess it depends on your mom's age? These dolls are from the late 70s, early 80s from what I understand. I am 33, and I had one when I was 6 or 7.

That was it! And now I remember the rest of the story - My Dad got it for me for my birthday, because it's name was Jenny. Which wouldn't be a big deeal, but my dad did not get toys for our birthdays, that was something my Mom always did.

In fact, DD still has my Mandy and plays with her all the time.

Mine had the hat, too. Actually, the pic that Strawberry Lemonade posted was the one that I had. The pic in my OP was close -- it was just the picture I saw first. But S. Lemonade's was mine exactly.

Mandy had such a sweet face. Why don't they make dolls like this anymore? The 70s and early 80s were a great time for toys.
