OMG!!!! That doll has had plastic surgery! I don't have kids, and I really don't know how anyone keeps their children innocent in any way, shape, or form these days. Today's culture seems bent on growing kids up as fast as possible in some ways, before they can possibly be emotionally mature enough to handle the "progress" they are making, if you know what I mean. Why can't kids be allowed to just be...kids??
I saw the title to this thread and immediately thought "I remember her". I had Mandy and Jenny and loved them both. I apparently didn't keep up with them through the years as I have no idea where they are today. Hopefully somewhere nice and probably hanging out with the Monchichis.
My sister had a Mandy doll. I don't remember when she got it though. She's 5 years older than I am, so she probably would have gotten it in the mid 70s. I believe it's still in her room at my parents house.
I still have both Mandy and Jenny someplace in my attic. I enjoyed playing with them much more than Barbie Dolls!!! In fact, IMHO, it was sooooo much easier to get the outfits on Mandy and Jenny rather than the Barbies!!! I totally agree, the dolls of today pale in comparison to the ones of the past!!! I had sooo much fun!!!
I still have both Jenny and Mandy. I know exactly which trunk I have them in and their "things". Not in the best condition though. They look like they had been well loved and played with. They brought me many great days of joy and memories. Those were dolls. Not the skanky Bratz that they sell these day. I just may have to get them out and give them a looksie.
