My friend finally left her abusive husband!

My mom was a domestic abuse surivor. Leaving her ex-husband was the best thing she ever did, who knows what would have happened if she stayed-she could have been killed or I could have turned out to be abusive.

Your friend did a right thing by leaving him. If more and more women could do this maybe less domestic violence would be happening.

I moved my best friend out of her in the dead of the night 2 years ago.

Her husband pointed a gun in my face earlier in the evening because he came home early and caught us moving a few things . Thank God it ended well .. police were called they stormed the house and hauled him to jail. They let us know they would hold him as long as possible, but it would only be about 24 hours. We had almost 20 people there with in an hour and they house empty in about 5 hours.

We also took all the paper goods!!!

I will keep her in my prayers ... sometimes a piece of paper wont stop an abusive crazy person. I hate to bring it up .. but it needs to be in the top of her mind to be as safe as possible!

Good for her! I love hearing these stories!

She has a rough road ahead of her. If she ever considers going back, remind her that it might SEEM the easier thing to do right now, but eventually, she WILL leave again, and she WILL have to go through all of this all over again. Better to push through it now and be done with it than to keep reliving it over and over again.

Two thoughts:

1) Why does the world need to know about your friend's drama?

2) Why is cleaning out the joint accounts a good idea? One would think that removing half of whatever's in there would be the correct thing to do.
