All the Ben and Jerry's ice cream places were closed! You could get ice cream elsewhere, but not at Schwabs, the one by Finnegans nor places in IOA. All 3 days. :duck:

I was looking forward to my Mint Chocolate Chunk in a waffle cone while sitting on Hollywood Blvd watching the parade. Clotted Cream was just not going to cut it. :jumping1:

Just kidding, actually had a fabulous time. We had just come from 4 days at the World with no planning** (except for lots of advil) so it was so nice to be "home." Made me appreciate EP and the ease of touring UO when you have ADHD and planning, especially when you don't know you are going till March, is not your forte. Loved everything about it especially the 96 degree weather while it was snowing at home. Loved walking around in shorts and t-shirt while my phone kept pinging "winter storm warning."

Hadn't been back since Kong opened, so enjoyed the new rides and loved revisiting old favorites.

But?????? Did UO lose their contract with Ben & Jerry's?

** Daughter's sports competition. March bid, but didn't have comp schedule till a couple of weeks ago so hard to plan dining and we didn't get our tickets till we arrived so a little more difficult to schedule FP. Still had a good time though. Loved, loved people watching during Dapper Days.

Wow, I've never seen B&J closed or schwabs. That sucks.

I was there that weekend too and loved the weather! Sunny & hot! I'm from the Midwest and we've had a lot of rain and flooding, glad I missed out on all that when I was gone! But it still kept raining after I got home....

Thursday (4/27) the high was 95 and Friday the high was 96. Just double checked on weather.com to verify that I was remembering the swelter correctly :)

Bleah! In late April?

Not sure it was that when we were in Orlando last summer. Since my son was in an arm cast I feel like we would remember that. It was hot but I'm not sure it was that hot.

Sorry, but "clotted cream" just does not sound appetizing. Might as well say spoiled milk!!

I would rather have Coldstone! UO has one of those, right?

Oh my goodness! I don't think it is ANYTHING like spoiled milk! Put a scoop of that on top of a scoop of Salted Carmel Blonde = :lovestruc:cloud9: for me!!!!

Clotted cream is gorgeous!

It's quite a treat and not something you eat every week.......one of the most high fat foods there is. Gorgeous on a scone......heck, gorgeous with anything.

But gorgeous.........the name has no bearing to the taste whatsoever...........

I will say, the clotted cream ice cream from Potter tastes nothing like real clotted cream. Potter stuff has a tangy taste, not rich.

It's slowly cooked milk. Not spoiled at all. :)

Ewwwwwww.

Good to know!

One of our fave days in England was at the castle in Nottingham, having scones with clotted cream and jam (put cream then jam on one side, and jam then cream on the other, to see which way we liked it LOL), on a broiling HOT day summer 2014. Sigh.

Now that is a way to spend a summer afternoon! Sounds lovely.......

There are academics over here who argue fervently over whether jam or cream should go first on the scone.......seriously.......me........either way for me I don't care........love a cream tea! Had the best one ever in Cornwall few years back........little farmhouse in the middle of nowhere with a little handmade sign at the end of the drive saying her house was open for cream teas and sandwiches.......sat in her kitchen with another family.........didn't want to leave!

It's gonna be 97 tomorrow and 98 on Thursday...you came during a cold snap...lol.

I know the clotted cream ice cream at Florean's is not like real clotted cream, but I like it as something different. To me it's more like a tangy sour cream cheesecake.
I get a scoop of the clotted cream and a scoop of the lavender one in the same cup...YUM!!

Yep, when we first bought it, the girl behind the counter told us it wasn't like the UK clotted cream, but more like a sharp key lime cheesecake flavour........and she was kinda right.......yep, tangy sour is probably a better description. Very strange when your brain is expecting something else.........still nice though.

We were there the same time as you. Hotter than hot! I neary had a heat stroke in line for the Hogwarts Express

Lesson learned - stay hydrated!

I had the spicy chocolate ice cream (Not sure what it was called now) and that was pretty good. I also had the salted caramel as well.

I do wish they would let you sample before buying. I was nervous getting my ice cream.

They tasted the same, but jam then cream was easier to do. Harder to spread the jam on the cream. Easier to spread the cream on the jam. :)

That day was also the first time my son would eat an omelet and wild greens salad. They really do have a lovely restaurant in that castle.
