Since a few of my stories are missing, I have to write this story by memory & pictures. Thank goodness for pictures or I wouldn't be able to do the missing dates. Please bear with me & I will try to do my best.
We had our usual breakfast at the Pop Century resort. We decided to spend a day at Animal Kingdom & we had dinner reservations at Mickey's Backyard Barbeque in Fort Wilderness Campground.
After Breakfast we took the bus to Animal Kingdom. As soon as we got there and past security, we went over to the ECV area to rent me an ECV for the day. Animal Kingdom & EPCOT are two places where I would be renting one because there is a lot of walking involved.
Once we got my ECV we were on our way. Animal Kingdom seemed a bit crowded but since we are from NYC we didn't let that bother us. I went over to a gift shop & I spotted the hat I wanted. I got a hat that matches my watch. It says Animal Kingdom on the front of it & its in leopard print. I love it.
I saw people looking over the bridge so I went over to look also. I spotted Winnie The Pooh & friends so I went to them. I got pictures with Pooh, Eeyore, Piglet & Tigger. Louis got a picture of Tigger in Mid-air which was really neat.
After getting pictures with my Friends we went over to It's A Bugs Life. I don't really care for bugs but Louis loves this attraction. I'm starting to get used to it. A Bug's Life is a 4D show about how bugs live their lives. You must wear 3D glasses that are in a shape of bugs eyes. Unfortunately, they don't let you keep them.
We decided to go to Africa to ride on Rafikis Planet Watch. I wanted to see if anything was going on in the Veterinary area. Nothing was going on but they had a sign that gave the times of when they do the stuff which is usually in the morning. Louis spotted some characters & I saw Pochahontas so I got a picture with her since I didn't have one with her yet. I went out to the petting zoo but decided I didn't want to pet any but next time.
After taking the Planet Watch Train back we rode over to Kilimanjaro Safaris because it's one of my favorite rides but I guess everyone else does too because the they had a long wait for it. We asked them when would be the best time to do this ride. They said first thing in the morning when they open. It's also the best time to see the animals. Kilimanjaro Safaris is a safari ride that takes you around on a Safari. Depending on when you go there will be animals out.
We decided to go to Flights Of Wonder. This time I videotaped the show. They encourage you to do it too. One of the birds flew right over me too. Flights Of Wonder is a bird show. While waiting in line, someone comes out with an owl & talks about it. It's a great show.
After Flights Of Wonder we rode over to Camp Minnie-Mickey. We saw Festival Of The Lion King which is a musical about The Lion King. We sat in the very front row which was really awesome. I didn't take any pictures or video of it because I don't feel right doing that in any kind of indoor show. I loved Festival Of The Lion King but Louis didn't care for it. Oh Well. The other show we saw was Pocahontas & Her Forest Friends. It's a show that has Pocohontas singing about her animals. This is mainly for kids but its still a fun show to see if you want to see some cute critters.
At this time we decided to find a spot to watch the Parade. We found a spot by the bridge to Asia which was a handicapped area. I took a video of the parade in which most of the characters in the parade wished me a Happy Birthday since I had my birthday button on. It made me feel special. It's a nice parade but not as nice as the one in Magic Kingdom.
After the parade, we decided it was time for us to leave. We turned in my ECV & get our money back for returning it. We took the Fort Wilderness bus to Fort Wilderness & then took a campground bus to the last stop & stood in line for Mickey's Backyard BBQ.
Mickey's Backyard BBQ is a BBQ they have where there is live country music & country line dancing with the characters. Before they let you into the dining area, they let you into the waiting area where kids can play games & adults can drink. I got a picture with Country Goofy. As soon as the gates opened to the dining area, everyone started rushing in like it was their last meal on Earth. It was chaotic. We noticed that we had to go to the buffet ourselves but we got the impression before we booked this that they would come to the table and put the food in front of you. We talked to the Manager about it & he told us that we read it wrong but because Louis was physically challenged they brought what we wanted to the table. The BBQ was really noisy too. After we ate we took the bus to Magic Kingdom to catch our bus back to Pop Century. We decided that Mickey's Backyard BBQ wasn't something we would do again because the food was horrible.
After getting back to our resort I filled up our mugs & we went back to our hotel room to relax for the night.
I hope you enjoyed this story. Please make comments.
