It's a good thing that I was checking online everyday because my flight next week leaving from EWR to MCO on Delta 9/28 was cancelled, and Delta did not even send me any notice. I know they are probably behind in advising their customer's, so I am glad I checked. I was supposed to leave at 9pm at night, instead I am leaving 7am the next morning. My advice to all is check EVERY day that your flight is still in existance...

My return flight was canceled and Continental re-booked me three hours earlier without notice. It's a good thing I checked as well.

When my Delta flight on the evening of 9/12 was cancelled that afternoon, I wasn't notified, nor was I automatically rebooked. Things are in such a flux right now that they just can't keep up with all the changes.

By all means, check on your flights regularly. In my case, Delta was extremely cooperative and flexible in getting me where I was going so soon after the skies reopened last week.

our USAIR 9/28 flight out of newark was cancelled too! (thank god for the internet!)
They did accomodate us and the csr was so helpful. She was finally able to book us a new flight that we could all sit together on. (4 out of the 5 available flights had me, dh and 3 dd's sitting ALL OVER the plane.) Our orignal flight had a connection and so does the new one.........could I have asked for a direct flight? Since they cancelled would they have been obligated to honor that request? Should I call back and push the issue?

It wouldn't hurt to call back and ask to be put on the flights that work best for you. Before I called, I'd check their web site to see what flights still have seats left. My first choice would be non-stop, followed by direct (1 or more stops, but no change of planes).

In my experience, when flights were cancelled, I had no trouble getting the flight I wanted if there was still space available. I can't say for sure that the airlines HAVE to do anything except give you a refund (without any penalties) if whatever new flights they offer don't work for you. In your case, you want your family to sit together, so maybe the flights you have now are the best you can do under the circumstances. Again, I don't think it hurts to call back and ask. Good luck!

thanks Carol. I called and non-stop or direct are not available. oh well. :(

but hey! It doesn't matter.............because we are going to Disney World!!!

Thanks for the tip off to the HIKS I was booked in at the Disney Music
and Im so glad that I was able to get a room at HIKS. It means that my family and my sister and her daughter can stay in one room. This will be great. Are there any dis advantages to staying offsite. The only one I can think of is the early entries, but Im sure since the attack that crowds shouldnt be a problem. Let me know when you return what your experience was. I am going on October 24
