My first trip report, May 2008 with pics! Updated 7-21,Typhoon Lagoon and P & P party

I think the themeing at ToT is to scary too. Great picture of the boat at the end of Fantasmic. We loved that show!

The Backlot Tour did change. IMO it needs to be either majorily reworked or removed. They don't film there so it seems pointless. RRC was my favorite ride, I am glad he enjoyed it!

Really enjoying your report - your pics are so clear! And your photopasses are some of the best I've seen. Ours were terrible when we went in January (seems the character in the photo didn't align with our hands or the pics were off center.)

I'm glad your son enjoyed Rock'n Roller Coaster. I rode for the first time this last visit and got such a headache from my head bouncing around :rotfl:

Can't wait to read more!

And then what happened?

Sorry for the late response, it is very busy here, and at work it is really chaos. But just a couple of days, and then it is holiday. :) I hope I can make another part tomorrow, thank you for your patience! :goodvibes

Yes, it was great, all these shows is one of the things why I love Disney. :)

We still liked the Backlot Tour, but indeed, it was better with the Studio action with it.

Thank you. :goodvibes More pics are coming up, also the rest of the story. ;)

I am enjoying your trip report! Your pictures are wonderful!

Thanks.:goodvibes

I won't forget to update, I promiss. Tomorrow is my last working day and then I can finally have holiday after a very busy time at work. I know, May and my Florida vacation was not so long ago, but I can tell you I am really ready for another break. :rolleyes1

It was a busy but fun weekend. We went to the Red Bull Air Race, I don't if you know what that is, and to a themepark called the Efteling. I went with a group of fans of Bastiaan Ragas, who I do the fanclub for. He had to perform there, and we first had a great day in the park, with afterwards a meeting with Bastiaan and his performance.
Great weekend, tired now, but I promiss to make an update tomorrow!

Friday, May 9th

Today it is time for Typhoon Lagoon and the Princess and Pirates party in Magic Kingdom.
We had breakfast at Pop, and went with the bus to Typhoon Lagoon.

We take a couple of slides, go to the shark pool. Michael doesn't want to go, but has fun with watching us in the water. Then we went to the wave pool. This was a big hit for Marco and Michael, they loved it. A great morning in Typhoon Lagoon, we wish we had such aquaparks here in the Netherlands.

We go back to the hotel, relax a little, since it will be a long evening. We wear our pirates shirts, we bought them at Key West. We took the bus, and it was again very quick. We really had no complaints about the bustransportation, it was great.
When we arrive at Magic Kingdom, we get a yellow armband, or how do you call it? So they know we have tickets for the Princess and Pirates Party.

dag1405.jpg

First we go to the City Hall. A niece of a colleague of Marco is working in Magic Kingdom, and we want to see if we can trace her. The only thing we know is that she works at Fantasyland. They try, but unfortunately they can't help us, but tell us to ask some people in Fantasyland.
First we go to Goofy's Barnstormer, we didn't do that one yet.

dag1406.jpg

Then we go to Fantasyland. We ask someone if they know June, and she says she is probably working at Peter Pan. We went to this one, but she is not there. They say she is probably then at It's a small world, since she does these 2 attractions. We do this one too, but she is not there too. They tell us to coe back later, maybe she will be there then. We decide to go the Haunted Mansion. When we do that, we see some castmembers, they have to make sure people without yellow armbands, are going away. I think I see June, since I saw a picture of here, and yes, I was right! :)
We talked with her for a little while, it was great to find her.

We went to the Haunted Mansion. I liked it, it is also different from Paris.
It was time for the parade, so we found a good spot for it.
I liked this one a lot, different from all the other parades. I especially liked the pirates and the last one with all the characters on it.

Afterwards we do Big Thunder Mountain, and go for the treasure hunt. We get some jewels and necklaces, and some candy when we do some games. Michael and I thought it was fun, we liked it.

Ofcourse we had to do Space Mountain again. ;)
It was time for the fireworks. Wow, the extra money you have to pay for this evening is completely worth it we think, especially the fireworks are so wonderfull!

Then we go to the danceparties from Sebastian, and Chip and Dale, and we do Space Mountain one more time.

Then we are tired and go back to the hotel. Our last evening here in Disney was well worth it!

Saturday May 10th

It is time to go home. We packed everything, and went to breakfast. For the last time a delicious Pop Waffle. ;)
We go to the airport, and TomTom is not telling completely the right way, but we arrive on time. We check in, and this time all are flights are on time. We heard there could be trouble with the bagage claim in the Netherlands, since a part of them are on strike, but luckily we get our bags very quick. We said goodbey to the families we met in Washington and Miami, and who are again on our flight now, and go home. This trip was amazing, we can't wait to go back!
Some last pictures, and some last thoughts from me will come up soon.

Yes, it was really a great trip. :)
We loved everything of it, except of the start with the delay, but well, we forgot about that soon. ;)
United gave us vouchers for the troubles we had, so we have decided to go back next year!
It will be a shorter trip this time, from 30 April 2009 untill 10 May 2009.
This time we only will stay in Orlando, and won't go to Disneyworld but the other parks.
We are going to visit Kennedy Space Center, Universal Studios, Sea World and something I am really looking forward to, Discovery cove! :cool1:
I know when I am again in Orlando I feel probably that I have to go to Disneyworld again too, but I can't have it all in a short time. I guess we have to go more and more. ;)

Kind regards, Sandra

Fabulous trippie. You're makin me wanna change my plans from going in the summer to going around P&PP time. Love it lotz!!

I can't believe it... I see just a little part of my sister, my son and my daughter in your parade pictures... you were almost right in front of us, on the other side of the street.... cool!

Just wanted to say that your pictures from the P&PP parade and the fireworks are wonderful!

I agree that P&PP is totally worth it and hope to do one of the other hard-ticket events again sometime.

I know you'll have a blast in Orlando next time -- even w/o Disney {GASP!} :lmao:

We've taken a few non-Disney vacations to FL and enjoy them too ... of course, it does make us appreciate Disney even more since they seem to do everything just a little (sometimes a LOT) better.
