So on Friday my family leaves for WDW and I decided to do my first pre-trip/trip report starting now and going through the whole trip.
Background:
Last year my husband and I took out first Disney vacation. At that time my entire family decided they want to go too. So when I got back we started planning.
Then in April my husband and I decided we loved is so much we want to be DVC owners. So we bought in and ended up getting us a 2 bedroom Savannah view.
Who is going:
Kim (Me) - I'm 24 (since Sunday!) and I planned this trip. I"m also the youngest of the kids in the family.
John (DH) - 27
Mom - 60
Dad - 60
Tammy (oldest sister) - 41
Missy (next sister) - 40
Nycole (Neice, Missy's daughter) - 16
Katie (Jenn's daughter, Jenn is the only one in the family not going!) - 15
Mikala (Jenn's other daughter) - 8
Of the people here Tammy went to Disney in college once. But I was 4 when she graduated so I'm not even sure that counts. Other then that no one else has ever been.
Transportation:
We live in MA but we will be driving. Why? Missy is afraid of heights and refuses to fly. So we are starting Friday morning driving down and staying overnight twice. Getting there on Sunday October 1st.
The plan: We have a base plan of parks for DH and I. Most people plan to follow us to a large extent at least to what park to go to.
You will notice the ADRs are a bit messed up for the first few days. I'm not even sure who is going to what place. This is because the youngest two weren't originally going since there mom wasn't and then at the last moment Jenn decided to send them and just not go herself. Of course this was about a month after ADRs were made!! I got them on some but not some of the earliest ones. Of course we can't send the 8 and 15 year olds by themselves so their ressies ended up for 3 or 4 giving us more slots then people and we have to decide who is going where for each (so yeah its a mess!)
Sunday - DTD and some HS... mostly for Fantasmic that none
ADRs: None.
Monday - Animal Kingdom for the day. Then MK for EMH if we want
ADRs: Chef Mickeys (7), Boma (4) both dinner
Tuesday - Disney Quest for DH and I, everyone else only has park hoppers so they are on their own.
ADRs: Dinner at LeCellier for DH and I, Coral Reef for 5, Arkeshus for the 8 year old and 2 others.
Wednesday - Epcot
ADRs: Teppon Edo for most, Tutto Italia for the 3 kids and my Dad (Nycole and Dad won't do Japanese food... even if its just rice and meat and this is where I could add the other two when they joined.
Thursday - Magic Kingdom and then MNSSHP for everyone but Tammy who is no fun and doesn't want to go
ADRs: Crystal Palace (all of us, and early enough to get Tammy out of the park before 7)
Friday - Hollywood Studios
ADRs: 50's prime time (not looking forward to the antics I hate this kind of stuff but this was the only request Mom made...) - Lunch
Mama Melrose - (dinner)
Saturday - Free day... mostly because I don't know how late we will stay before starting the drive back (we have all day Sunday and Monday too so it really depends on how long the drive down takes).
ADRs: Ohana breakfast - My DH loves Stitch this was his only request... he normally even hates breakfast but is willing to get up extra early for this one.
Oh and before I have to run off I'll end this first installment with one of my biggest worries for this trip. Katie is a vegetarian. I barely eat vegetables. Neither does my husband. So we paid exactly 0 attention to what places had veggie dishes. So yeah I hope we can find her food. The only plus is she is really not a picky eater. She will pretty much eat anything without meat.
So will everyone manage to not kill each other? Will Dad manage to play nice the whole trip (we are going to Florida and he is one of those people that get cranky in heat and crowds). Will the 8 year old listen to all of us without her Mom around? Can we manage to bring 6 first timers and have them all be happy? Will the massive amount of work I will need to do for Grad school hinder the vacation?
I know one thing everyone is super excited and its almost here!!
